I'm buying Allo Allo and have been watching episode 5 of Series 3, '"Pretty Maids All In A Row".
Here is the fortmula for a great commedy.
Write a simple script with many sidescripts and repeated lines such as "Listewn carefully, I shall say this only once."
Then select actors who are the exact opposite of the characters. Toss in a liberal dose of double and tribble meanings and.....
"Allo Allo!"
What do you think?
Gordon.

ive never seen any episodes but this may interest you
questions put to gorden kaye on what & who he thinks funny
"What do you think of modern comedy shows"
Gorden Kaye: "I hadn't realised there were any, I am a great fan of The Fast Show and Dinnerladies."
"Who is your favorite comedian?"
Gorden Kaye: "Robin Williams from the USA and the only comic genius Britain has; Ken Dodd. I call him a genius because he does what he wants: this is because the audience want him to do what he wants."

Don't forget that you must at every opportunity say "Fallen Madonna With The Big Boobies".
And have general whoops where are my bloomers hilarity...
TBH I don't think Allo Allo can claim to be up there with the best of British comedy.
That claim probably lies with Peter cook and Dudley Moore, Monty Python and so on.
