In a recent online discussion with a FG friend, he mentioned the **** Street Gang.

Discussion groups are increasingly using language editing software and I have been "deleted" many times for using words which are right and proper English words in Australia and Great Britain but which are banned on US discussion groups.

I was deleted when publishing the words to a famous Australian song called "The Pub With No Beer." One of the lines read "and the cook's acting *****." This very naughty word rhymes with beer and starts with "qu".

I was, therefore very surprised to find that the ****, that we discussed, did not result me being sent to the "sin bin"! The **** did indeed refer to a rooster.

Even in the most extreme circumstances I refrain from using naughty words. Now, post 1984, I have become a criminal, not for robbing banks, but for using good, clean and proper English words.

What a world we live in!

With respects.

Gordon.

The world's gone crazy, I tells ya.

A few years ago a US politician was called a racist for using the word "snigger"!

I wish forums had punctuation editing software, so that the erroneous and irritating apostrophe would disappear from pluralised words :

I took my kid's to the store's today, and we bought shoe's and book's.
