I think promoting 100 year old literature is slightly pointless, even by my standards!

Nope, a friend of mine asked me what my worst fear was, I could'nt seem to find a clear answer for them so I thought I'd throw it out to you lovely people!
.....and I'm sure I'll stay, if thats ok with you guys!

Whilst you have brought up the topic of fear, I feel I should point out a few rules should you encounter, Nomad
Do not touch the glass. Do not approach the glass. You pass him nothing but soft paper †no pencils, no pens. No paper clips or staples in his paper. Use the sliding food carrier only, no exceptions. If he attempts to pass you anything, do not accept it. Do you understand?
I think theres a little Nomad kidding in there.
James Im not behind glass ok ? So you just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Fear ? Great question. There are different types and varying degrees of fear. Im afraid of heights, but I bungee jumped once albeit in a drunken act of bravado so I think I can declare that one conquerable.
I would get spooked in the dead of night in an old home where someone had been butchered.
Sneezer (a scary FG member) fequently makes me squeal like a frightened mouse.
But if I had to settle on one thing it would be the human mind. The darker aspect of neurons colliding into eachother and producing the likes of Ed Gein's or Jeffrey Dahmer's. Evil. True evil that lies behind the eyes of someone you pass on the street or your neighbor. Jeffrey Dahmer had neighbors, they had no idea he was finding his guests agreeably palatable.

They never asked that question of someone hanging off a ledge by their fingernails.

ArnoldLayne wrote: Similar to my own fear. I have also bungee jumped and parachuted but watching Natalie Watts climb up the Empire State building or climbing a wobbly ladder, makes me feel all funny inside (not least cos she is hot  ). Very strange then that I should choose to climb unaided onto the wheel of a Cesna light aircraft, while holding onto the wing. I dont understand it
Did you see her do that ? She climbs buildings in a short dress ? That sounds like something I would like to see. I wonder if shes coming here ?
You climb out on the wings of airplanes ? While theyre moving ? In the air ? Thats not right Arnold.

Am I the only person with a fear of being shut in the doors of an elevator?
I got trapped in an elevator once. Contrary to tv depictions it wasnt with a pretty girl with one bar of chocolate.

There's a drink advert on TV at the moment. A guy is taken up the side of a skyscraper, has these orange sticky ball things attached to his hands and feet, is then given a drink from this can and assured that it'll be ok as the drink is fat free. He is then left on the side of the skyscraper and you're given a view from the top as he flips hand over feet down the side of the 'scraper. Who'd like to try that? Not me. If anyone did that to me, I would have a personal vendetta to settle.

I absolutely refuse to dwell on all of the bad things that might happen ie: bird flu, tornados, hurricanes, whatever.
But I am TERRIFIED of beetles!!! While I love the month of June, I am already dreading the sure invasion of those nasty little beetles.

i dident like the flapping of birds either dg until one got stuck inside my kitchen last summer, i dont know who was more scared me or it but i did manage to get it out & we became friends afterwards even named it jack, once you name them they are in!!!!
i managed to let him land on me although he turned out to be a she - laying eggs in my hedge, she has just returned to the garden after the winter, im ok with her now, not so sure about other birds but im not as nervous of them as i was before jack
