Wait a minute, Six, I just thought of something. Don't mean to scare

you, but a sore that doesn't heal is one of the 7 warning signs of cancer.

If you've had this for an extended length of time, you might want

to think about having a dermatologist take a look at it, embarassing

location or no!!

could you google - spot images & choose the one that looks most like it & post it on the thread?

It might be an insect bite, if it is get some antihisan for it from Boots.

I dont want to scare you either... but one of those spots your describing.. turned out to be Melanoma on me last August. Are you kidding around or what? Either way... Ill look at it over breakfast, this Saturday. That is if its in a spot..... that you can bare publicly..

It's something that worries a lot of people and quite reasonably so. Over half of US cancers are skin cancers, and it's not easy to even know they're there if they crop up on a less visible area.

There's an ABCD checklist regarding skin cancer as contrasted with normal "moles":

A for Assymetry - can you imagine a line through the middle and see that the two halves aren't mirror images of each other, or is it a regular geometric shape? (I think on the mirror test you're allowed inversion and rotation, but perhaps that's too pedantic an idea to mention).

B for Border - is the edge uneven, as opposed to smooth and un-notched?

C for Colour - is it made up of various shades of browns and blacks, as opposed to a single even shade?

D for Diameter - has it got bigger than 6mm across?My own opinion is that if I saw an area of skin changing I'd want it looked at by my GP sooner rather than later, and that after raising the issue here you really ought to do that. We'll worry indefinitely on your behalf otherwise.
