How Do They Do It?

How can Timex make a watch that runs forever and sells for $26.50? Some things in this world seem to be woefully overpriced and not a very good value, but these watches by Timex are something else. I am writing this because the rubberized band on my 6 year old Timex is shot and there is not way to put another onto this particular watch so what the hell, for $26.50 or so I will just buy another. I have bungy-jumped, white water rafted, scuba dived to 100 ft. with the one I am wearing and just like the ole Energizer Bunny it keeps going.
I own two Omega watches. One was a graduation gift in !952 and the other was given to me as a gift on my 50th birthday. They are both beautiful and expensive watches, but I would be reluctant to wear either one while diving or white water rafting. That's one thing about getting old, practicality wins out over show.
