How can Timex make a watch that runs forever and sells for $26.50? Some things in this world seem to be woefully overpriced and not a very good value, but these watches by Timex are something else. I am writing this because the rubberized band on my 6 year old Timex is shot and there is not way to put another onto this particular watch so what the hell, for $26.50 or so I will just buy another. I have bungy-jumped, white water rafted, scuba dived to 100 ft. with the one I am wearing and just like the ole Energizer Bunny it keeps going.

I own two Omega watches. One was a graduation gift in !952 and the other was given to me as a gift on my 50th birthday. They are both beautiful and expensive watches, but I would be reluctant to wear either one while diving or white water rafting. That's one thing about getting old, practicality wins out over show.

I have a TIMEX just like the one you have the band wore out it still keeps ticking nothing stops it. I did buy a new one and I'm sure it will "Take a licking and keep on ticking" as well, and the price is right..

TIMEX watches- their slogan says: "TIMEX Watch-takes a licking, & keeps on Ticking". And it does, but conveniently for them, it doesn't say anything about the "strap" keeps on working!:)

Old age and skullduggery will overcome youth and vitality every time.
