Far Rider was decent and gracious enough to sincerely *not* want 'forum wars'. it's a shame you can't do likewise, jives. your post, with the attempted disguise of little smiley-faces, is quite obviously the post of someone expressing some sour grapes, which is quite ignoble.



jives is peeved at me because i'm not a prude. it's really that simple. i wouldn't delete the silly post of that guy hanging onto the wall outside an apartment window, showing his naked (shriek!) backside.



jives made particularly nasty posts recently about how what "we" wanted was to get rid of the crude, low class stuff off of forumgarden. utterly - and quite frankly cluelessly - ignoring the palpable real problems that we were in the midst of. of course, perhaps he can be forgiven the ignorance, as he had chosen to go silent for a month after being outed for his childish (crude, low class?) claims that he was in the gin blossoms.



i'm pissed off. never good for me to post when i'm pissed off. but there you have it. FG has been 'back on track' for the most part for i believe almost a month now - but yet another raging bull decides that he wants to make forumgarden conform to what he thinks it should be, rather than contributing to and building the forumgarden we all want it to be.

um, i have a vague recollection that our friends on the other side of the pond use the colloquial term 'pissed' to indicated inebriated. not sure however if 'pissed off' carries similar connotation. however, for clarity, i mean to say that "i'm angry". not drunk.

The "off" modifier has exactly the same function in British English, and I'm pleased though slightly surprised that "pissed" passes through the swear-filter as cleanly as weak beer (or "gnat's ****") on a Friday night binge. You were pissed off on two continents. It's interesting that it can be both passive and active - "I'm pissed off" being the state and "He pissed me off" being eloquently descriptive of the event. For future reference it often fits well with "What a tosser", the British being obsessed with the solitary vice.
