The Bush.

"The Bush" has several meanings.

Australia is dominated by one big capital city, so "The Bush" can mean anything outside that one big city.

"The Bush" can also mean anything outside the big cities and towns.

"The Bush" can mean anything area that is not lived in, farmed, mined or otherwise used by most people. This is what I love to go and explore and paint.

"The Real Bush" is often called "The Outback"

Mel Gibson once bought a farm or "property" that was described by US magazines as being in "The Outback". Actually it was only 10 miles outside an inland city of 100,000 people.
