Holy Smokes---------What gives? I had to go to several medical offices today and all the nurses, receptionists, technicians, lab people were huge. I don't mean overweight, I mean big time obese, gargantuan. The patients (supposedly ill) all looked better than the staff. The only thing worse would be to have an aquarium in the Dr.'s office with dead fish floating on top. I don't mean to be unkind to the folks with weight problems, but wow!!!

No problem Val-----I thought I had posted something on this before, but today was another day with a different medical group and still the same thing with these med folk. It still amazes me.

WOW!

Sort of a "Do as I say, not as I do" type thing, then. That's assuming

they DO talk to their patients about their weight...

Ive never been huge... but Ive always wished to be small. I have been very unsympathetic to obese people all of my life. I find it appalling and frightening. Especially on young people. Last year I was getting concerned with my weight. I attributed my weight gain to age, and changing hormones. A physician friend of mine explained something to me that really clicked and worked for my losing about 15 pounds... with little effort.

Firstly he said. " Losing weight is a mission, and a life long commitment. It isnt something you just try to do temporarily.

This is the biggie.. " Your body is like a computer...it has memory chips built into each cell. It remembers the biggest you have been, and it WANTS to go back there. It knows nowhere to go but up, and will continue to go up, unless you re program it. Now, when I shove baguettes and croissants down my throat... the fear of those little men in the computer scare me. The prospect of being huge eliminates the momentary pleasure of eating. Food is not taking a trip to nowhere.... it is looking for a permenent residence. It works for me.

Fat is a menace to loathe and despise...

Hangs out in dumplings, and strawberry pies

Slinking round corners.. hiding on plates..

Increases hips, discourages dates.

Fat weakens arteries..damages hearts

Hides in pools of butter, cake, and tarts..

Waits to attack when hunger sets in..

Hits you the hardest, when you think your thin!
