Just have a fun couple of questions for the married, or engaged folks here.
Who proposed? How did they propose?
Here is my story: Rick and I had been "living in sin" for a couple of years before we got engaged. As we were going through a period of time where we worked oposite shifts from each other so he usually called me on his break every day. One day he called and said "You know what? We should get married before the end of the year, so we can file a joint tax return next year. What do you think"
That was it.

OH Marie!! :p
Similar story--the first hubby said as he sat on the couch.."Ya wanna get married since your knocked up and all??" Yeah he is from southern Iowa....HA HA........
and my next hubby said--"Lets go to the mall" ..We went and he said "pick it out..."

I made him call my mom from the store to ask her if he could marry me...the guy was dying laughing...then he admitted he was sad that his cat had died and he likes to spend money when he is depressed...
:sneaky: hmmm buy him a bigger animal and maybe get a bigger ring?? hmmmmm
BUT MY NEXT ONE WILL BE SOOO MUCH BETTER!!!!! ha ha ha ha ---no plans to ever do it again!:-6

It was in July and I would go ride the combine with Dave everyday when I got off work. Well one night he asked me if I wanna get married, and I said sure and 6 weeks later we were married. We wanted to wait a year before getting married, but his dad didn't want us distracted with planning a wedding while in college.
This August will be 10 years, oh how time has flew and crawled by at the same time. :wah:

Happy almost anniversary. For Rick and I it will be 5 years come December 7th. That is right..Pearl Harbor day. Rick picked the date so he would not forget our anniversary. Of course, he remembers the date, can never seem to remember the year!!:-4

At a Blue Angels event, Labor Day weekend of '04, Bullet asked me to marry him while we were on a hayride in the country. Very romantic, I tackled him into the hay, sat on his chest and smothered him with kisses, and he said, "I take it that's a yes?"

Aw! great stories!
I met my husband at work, we started living together 3 months after we started dating and got engaged 3 months after that.
He proposed in his old room at home in Ireland,
and we got married almost 3 years later!
Our 9 year wedding anniversary is coming up in June!

My husband flew 3,00 miles from the East out to the sunny land of L.A. to propose. Oh, it was very romantic. He came back to get us the next year, packed up our stuff in teh moving van, flew us out here, and we got married in Annapolis in the chapel at the statehouse. :-4

My husband proposed on the phone. As I was in america and he was in england, that worked for me. He sent me my engagement ring by royal mail!:wah: He said "put this on as soon as you get it. It engages you. To me."
I flew over for ten days. Then went back to get my visa. We've been married for two years now. I got the best guy on the island! :-4

For us, nobody proposed. It was the strangest thing & we laugh about it still. We dated & grew together & loved & laughed ... before we were really conscious of it we were making plans of the future.

Funny you should ask -- today is June 2nd and hubby and I got engaged six years ago on this very day!:-4
We had picked out the ring together that afternoon. While we were lying down watching the Red Sox game that night, he proposed. Not the most romantic, but it was done during a shared experience we both enjoy.
The funny thing is, my first husband planned an elaborate evening with lots of surprises on the night he proposed. It was a great proposal, but not a great marriage.
*I'd rather have it the other way around*;)
