Well it seems the world really doesn't change when one goes on vacation.
2 nights after my arrival back home, my daughter and I were subjected to the worst of the worst from the drunk abusive neighbor next door. We now have reached the point where we can't go out into our own back yard on a nice day without hearing him ranting. He no longer keeps it private in his house. She is sporting her second black eye in a month. Wednesday evening early (kids in the neighborhood were still awake) he was shouting threats of strangling and killing someone, if they "pissed" him off. Then when it was all over, he was caught by my daughter leaning over the fence staring into our back sliding door window. My daughter yanked the curtains closed. This is not the first time. This now affects us, as my daughter is afraid. I dropped a note into their mailbox explaining this has gone too far now with what we heard and who heard (a child) and the neighborhood does not need to know their business and we will be forced to make complaint calls to authorities. Then I dutifully called the police and have been given the go ahead to report every incident possible.
It is so disturbing having to live next to this

Sounds pretty grim Minks. The problem with people like that is they don't listen and don't really care about anyone other than themselves.
Good neighbours are the most important thing about where you live. Hope things work out on this one mate.:yh_hugs

Thanks Unc, least I have an option.... Move. And that likely will happen. I should have known when I bought the house, as my house was for sale as was the one on the other side of the crap neighbors, should have been a sign.
Police reports may help but I suspect it will be long and drawn out before he is tossed in the clink. He needs a good beating his self.

Gee, if I knew how to drive a moterbike, I would join that posse. I have had neighbors like that and they really suck.
But, if you want to get a tar and feather posse going, I will definatly join up.

Thanks gang, it would be the perfect solution wouldn't it to just have him taken out back and have him looked after.
Yes the police situation is frustrating, but hey I will become their biggest pain in the arse and keep calling till this jerk is removed. Each call I make will stress the fact that my daughter is afraid. I guarantee you all, my daughter and I are safe, we have a great guard dog who bites. Rumor has it the one and only time I had my dog outside while I was away this knee jerk neighbor hopped my fence to try and shut my dog up and was promptly bit. I played the naive card and when I heard about it went over and asked to see the wound, and voiced fake concern for infection. The low life would not come to the door. HAH he is a sissy. I also know he comes up to my front window and torments my dog, and he takes great pleasure in telling me about how much my dog barks in my house. Well yippeeee for him. That happens when anyone passes my house, good doggie. I also was told idjit has sprayed wasp spray at my dog through the fence cause he dislikes my dog, sooooooooooooooooooooo do you think my dog shares a mutual hate...you bet so if this man tried to get close both my daughter and I know we simply open the door or gate and let the dog go.

Ughh sorry Minks! If you have acess to a video camera, set it up and record him and his stunts. Maybe then the physical proof will help ya get rid of him faster.

On Minks, do be careful this is such a bad situation!! you never know
what a guy like this will do!! To you OR the puppers!!
It's hard trying to decide what to do... we have a law here that you
have to disclose things like that... so it can make it tough to sell and
everyone thinks twice about saying anything.

Minks you have a tough road ahead for sure. It takes a very long time before LE does anything with the likes of your neighbor until he truly hurts someone, or she comes forward.
It will continue to esculate believe me he will not stop, can't and won't because he doesn't see himself as the problem plain and simple everyone else is to blame.
I know it seems impossible now but moving would be the best thing for your entire family. He is looking at your daughter over the fence, what's next. I wouldn't want to take that chance with my kids. I know your doing what you can as fast as you can. Be afraid very afraid he is a ticking time bomb ready to blow. My biggest fear is he will kill someone, first his wife then who knows. He is unstable and ready to lash out at any minute.
There are no easy answers here for sure. Just know he will blow sooner than later it will happen.
Sheryl is correct if you can video him in action a picture is worth a thousand words..

Thanks Valerie, needless to say pupps and daughter are closely watched by me, my father, my brother, and a friend of my parents and the beau.

even if he's doing something illegal, or coming onto your property when your not home.
Call your LE and ask if you can do this, maybe there's a loophole somewhere.

A move is in our plan and my father is on the hunt as we speak. My daughter so does not need this kind of fear. And Carla you have him pin pointed to a T. He is a sick alcoholic man.

I shall do that. I suppose survellience of my own property is not illegal, it is all in how the camera is aimed right??

Minks you mean you couldn't have a security system on your house that has camera's that record people coming on to your property??? Doesn't make sence, they have camera's in stores, airports, buses you name it here there is camera in it.. It works. I would think your could have them to protect your property..

I was going to say what Valerie has already said. Neighbour disputes are supposed to be declared if you're selling property over here. Not sure if that is only applicable to disputes directly related to the property (boundaries etc. ).
If it was all disputes it would make a sale difficult if you were legally bound to declare it. Once other agencies are involved, it's official and there's no denying it. Keep that dog hungry Minks

oh I think I could do that, as long as it does not record what goes on in the neighbors yard.

Cut your lose and go. Rent it out to someone with no kids. Glad to hear your dad is on it and looking for a place for you now. Sorry if I seem so alarmed Minks I'm just fearful for you and your family he is not stable by any means.
I have some experience with this kinda of situation in my own family. There are clearly warning signs here that it will only get worse. I would say rent the house out and rent yourself a new place till you can sell but just get out of that neighborhood.

Keep a diary and you have to use CCTV, it sound's like the guy is really unstable and could resort to anything .The diary may be needed if you were asked to be a witness in court .The CCTV would let you see who's hanging around your property also mind he does'nt give anything poisonous to your dog .JUST BE CAREFUL if the police cannot protect you try to stay one step ahead of this guy and protect yourself.

know where your comming from Minks, I live in a "clicky" housing estate, with all the usual problems of a run down neibhourhood, I find that If I keep myself to myself, everythings pretty much okay.
I do feel sorry for you, having that situation in your face every day. Seems unfair that the only way to make things better is to move.
Hope things get better for you.

Yep I think like you do, but for the sake of my daughter a move is the safest and most sure thing.... as long as we don't move into the same kind of situation again argh!!!! I would cry.

Right minks, avoid the same situation by making sure you ask first about that "Nasty neighbor next door" law/rule, or whatever. In the mean time, if you really feel threatened, buy a GUN, or if that's too drastic, buy MASE spray! :wah:
Good luck, & best wishes!

You're joking, right? You can't use your video recorder to catch someone in the act of doing something illegal??? That can't be right.
Lots of good suggestions here, keeping a log of every incident, (courts love to see stuff written down with times and dates) and keep on your LE's ass. Make as much noise as you can. This guy sounds like a time-bomb about to go off, especially if he's beating his wife. I would love to come up there with the whole club and party away on your lawn, drifting subtly onto his....Hopefully we'd catch him in one of his rages, and he'd have his pick of any number of people his own size to try and beat on.
KEEP ON YOUR LE. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Encourage other neighbors to do the same. With all of you working together, this guy doesn't stand a chance. Individually, you're afraid of him, but if there's a bunch of you, what can he do??
