On the way to work this morning, I drove past a road named PITNEY STREET. Just a few yards from the junction was an absolute double of Gene Pitney. A guy in a black suit with grey hair and HIS face. After uttering an expletive in disbelief, I considered this to be a spooky occurence.
Has anyone else experienced any spooky happenings or strange co-incidences?

I dodn't fight the Germans two thousand miles across Africa and the entire length of Italy just to have long-haired louts like you put indecent photos of Dot Cotton onto the Internet. The youth of today has no idea when it comes to respect. A flogging's too good for you.

Once when I was out I saw someone that I thought I recognised. I was thinking that I hadn't seen them for years and then realised it was someone else. A few minutes later, I actually saw the person I thought I'd seen earlier.
What are the Clancys of that ?

I've just totally freaked my daughter out.
She just said to me "You'll never guess in a million years who I bumped into today".
I said "Bob Rogers?"
The jaw dropped and remained open for quite a while.
She saw him this afternoon in a local store.
He was a neighbour 4 houses ago and he was 20 miles over this way.
Quite why I picked him out of the hundreds of people I know when I havent spoken to him for 15 years is a mystery.

Well get this one. While reading your post my daughter was talking about a kid she met in Lanzarote last year who she hasn't heard off in ages. Just then he sent a text message. Is this a dream?

Why shouldn't someone be a banana? There is nothing wrong with being a banana. Some of my best friends are bananas

Bananas have got to $16 a kilo here... If you can't be a Texas oil baron, a banana is probably the next best thing! Grin.

I allways seem to have really severe cases of dejavue. It seems so real at times that I could swear that I have been there before, absolutely swear on my life.
Really scares me sometimes.

I grew up about 100 miles from London. Years ago, the band I was in played a couple of consecutive nights at The Marquee in Londons West End. To pass some time before the 2nd gig, I did the tourist thing and wandered around all the usual places. In those days (1982) you could walk down Downing St and just stand outside No.10. I stood on the pavement opposite No.10 and just looked at the door feeling the history. Thre was someone standing on the opposite side of the road close to and facing the door. I was shocked when they turned round and it was someone I knew. Spooky.

I have changed the surnames to protect the innocent

but the story is true.
A girl I know named Maxine Roberts married Peter Edwards and became Maxine Edwards. Peters sister, also named Maxine Edwards married a guy named Roberts and became Maxine Roberts. An interesting swap, or......Spooky

A frequently repeated statement by my boss is "I don't believe in Coincidences". Amazingly I met someone else recently who also said that they didn't believe in coincidences. I told my boss about it and asked him if he thought it was a coincidence

Well, my mom and dad were born in the same Irish town, my dad's family lived on one street, and they sold their house or whatever it was people did in those days, and moved to another street, and my moms family moved in, my mom and dad never met each at that point at all, they actually met, completely by chance in Birmingham in England 20 years later, and only realized that their families had both once lived in the same house in this smallish Irish country town and that they had actually paritally grown up in the same rooms. Hows that for coincidence?

I think they may have also experience similar emotions, though they usually restrained themselves, also they did not have a well, which was probably just as well (no pun intended!).

Uncle Kram, what is the significance of No. 10??
I think it's all part of the universal joke for lack of a better term. The way things we think are so unattached or irrelavent are actually intertwined. I take a lot of it for granted which is probably why I've had thes experiences but couldn't really think of them now to tell you.
I love your thread!

When I was very young my family lived in Surrey in a square of houses round a central green area. then we moved to a village in Cornwall to an end of terrace house. Couple of years later I became friends with a girl who had just moved into the house at the other end of the terrace - turns out her family lived in the same square of houses in Surrey but we had never met.
Hubby's dad and mine share the same birthday.
We helped to restore an old water wheel that is attached to the building we rent for our business. We got the last miller who had switched the wheel off to turn it back on - his surname is Strickland - my maiden name.
