U.S.A. your team is a credit to you,they outplayed the Italians,who have for so long been one of the strongest teams in the world cup, and only had 9 men on at the end.............they were an absolute credit to their country.well done.

Thank you Redman they did out play Italy. I believe if we had 10 players on the the field we would have won the game. They played hard and that is all I wanted to see they have proven themselves here at home for sure, they didn't back down and played to ball what more can you ask except for 1 more goal... USA...

Yep! They were unlucky not to win. we all enjoyed the game here.

While luck played a role, I have to agree that the USA team set the tempo of the game very effectively, and was able to establish good offensive attacks. That which we had seen none of against the Czechs. All in all, im still impressed with the way they had played.

I dont want to be one to just go along with the sake of agreement, but I did think there was some sketchy calls on the refs part. Its a physical game. It should remain tolerant on some levels. Not like its womans soccer. Guys like getting banged around. Atleast I like a good physical match. Its fun that way.

KS, I guess you haven't watched much women's soccer they are every bit as physical as the men in some case even more. My niece plays for the US National team U-21 and team captain at Stanford. To date she has broken her nose, torn both ACL's and had surgery, concusion, and numerous other injuries but plays as tough a game as the men do. She broke her nose at last years Women's FIFA world cup trying for a header, plays that game out and every game till they got home then had surgery.

So don't demean the Women the play a hell of a lot better then the men overall..

I wouldnt think that woman would want to be physical in the sports they play.

KS, my niece is hardly burly she is 5 5 and weights 120lbs of muscle has long blondish red hair and is quit beautiful as most of the women who play sports in the US. Now you want burly when my niece's team played the German women (who looked like german men), now your talking burly but they kicked there butts and won actually thats the game my niece broke her nose in..

I dont doubt there are alot of beautiful women athletes, I mean I should know. Its just when I think of a woman associated with physical aggression, I think of "burly".

I just assumed that womens soccer wasnt as physical.

I wouldnt hardly categorize wanting to look "sharp" as being effeminate just because ironing your cloths makes you look classy. I like to look sharp as well. Although I do tend to ask the woman to do it for me, but since you have said you dont have a particular interest in ironing is much of the reason he probably takes it upon himself, as I would.

I still remember the day permanent press clothes went into the stores. My mother made my father go buy us all new clothes-gosh, there were six of us. Cost him a fortune, and my mother didn't have to iron them anymore!

He was an Ass period now those player can't play in their next games. The Italy red card was vaild but all the ones after that were not. I hope he never Ref's again he is the worst ref I have ever seen..

Well, while we dodged a bullet today we still have the peak to get to.

Good news: Italy plays the Czechs

Bad News: We have to win against Ghana, at the same time Italy has to beat the Czechs.

Due to the U.S. having 4 goals against, the Czechs would go to the next round by fewer goals allowed in the event of a tie between Italy and Czech Republic.

Its by far a climb, but I remain optimistic.

Me as well KS they need a miracle to stay in it but if they play like they did today they could pull it off.

That is, if the Czechs and Italy dont tie with a sum of more than that of the USA's number of goals allowed in conjuntion to the sum of their hypothetical victory over Ghana. (That right?)

The U.S.A Should have had a penalty but for very poor refereeing. They are not so far away from one day winning the world cup,I was amazed at the progress they have made,very well done,keep it up.

Well, Australia has the honour of playing Brazil shortly... grin. Of course we'll beat the crap out of them latins!!
