What's going on now, please?????

I was starting to relax again here last night in a rather innocuous thread, I thought. A few of us had been discussing butter - I'd refound a friend I'd been missing a lot - and I was in the process of composing a lighthearted (okay possibly risque) buttery limerick when suddenly FG closed down again. Like it had the previous night when apparently we were about to all be permanently evicted for the some transgression somewhere on this large forum. This morning I find the thread I was on now requires a password which I don't have.

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

What's going on now, please?????

Hi Pam:

If the thread you are referring to has been moved to The Tar Pit, the password there is "moveon". You can find The Tar Pit under the listing of Forums.

I hope this helped. If it did, you are *entirely* welcome!;)

If it didn't, oh well, at least I tried:)

Thanks Cher!!! I didn't understand that when people talked about the Tar Pit it was an actual spot.

For me anyway, an important and useful discussion was taking place on that thread - as well as some good humoured fun and some catching up of old friends. I guess we were a bit free ranging, one of the things I've enjoyed at FG. Hey I was on the point of producing a limerick of such exalted literary worth that it would go down in FG history...

This morning, I've managed to read later parts of the thread and was very interested to see the contributions of Amie, Pinky and Marie. .....

I know there's no point in being seriously annoyed.

Oh SHI******T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PINKY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BR !!!!!!!!

I am not annoyed at you or Amie or Marie. Absolutely the contrary. !!!!

I found what you three said on top of what Rapunzel and I were saying, was very interesting. I appreciated your input and found it worthwhile.

And I was also enjoying some long needed camaraderie with old friends. Then suddenly not only did FG go down (so I went off to bed) but when I got up this morning I found the whole thread had been dumped in the tar pit with the label - "deemed to be of no value." I'm not about to start arguing with Management here. The boss is the boss.

But bloody hell... I'm seriously pi%%ed off.

Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Ah. No biggie, just asking for clarification. Even with the thread in the Tar Pit, it's still being posted in. It's not getting any better now, since the appearance of a few, but it is still there.

I agree, I'd thought we were making progress in trying to figure out a better way to make things work around here. But, as you said, the bosses are the bosses.

I'm going to get away from this computer in a little while and go enjoy some of this sunshine before we get our massive thunderstorms tonight. :-6 :-6

OK, I am going to spend some time in the sun, also. But am I a complete oddball if I were to say I **really** enjoy a good thunderstorm? SO long as I am not driving in it, or outdoors. But I love them. They scared the P*SS out of me when I was a kid, but I like them now.

Marie i love a good thunder storm as well. Thunder, lightning, torrential rain give me that over sun anyday .:D

I love thunderstorms too, especially by the sea. Roaring wind. Crashing waves. Lightening tearing open the clouds. And the roar of the thunder....

Pinky - the divvy thing!!! I thought this meant you could go into a room full of old junk and get bonged over by the one real genuine antique singing to you from the bottom of the pile.. like my hero, Lovejoy - who of course hails from your general area. I can see him poking around the estuary as I write..... unearthing Roman coins, Celtic torques, jade lanterns..

Hello Pants!! How are you?

Marie - just read your profile. Grin. Don't think we've really formally met yet. So a big retrospective G'day!!! Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is one of my favourites too - book and film. I actually did a bit of a pilgrimage in Savanna just to soak up the atmosphere. Grin.

Well, hello, Aussie. Nice to meet you. Just saw the movie Wolf Creek...set down your way, and allegedly based on fact. A bit too bloody for me, but my husband liked it.

I don't know that one, Marie. Haven't been to a movie in a while actually. Will check it out though. I think the next one on my list has gotta be the Da Vinci Code. I've heard some bad reports on it, but I love Audrey Tatou and Tom Hanks, and enjoyed the book. Not one to be taken too seriously, but a ripping good yarn.

When I was in Paris a couple of weeks ago I found myself outside that awful rambling barn, the Louvre, on late opening night. No lines. So wandered in. Havent been there for years. You can get an audio Da Vinci Code self guided tour now... grin. I didn't do that but did go and see the two Leonardo paintings. The one with the "John gesture" and the Mona Lisa. The first is so startling, it is easy to see how it came to grab Dan Brown's attention. And, in the flesh, the Mona Lisa knocks you right over. Reproductions just don't cut it. She is magnificent.

Hi Chonsi. Grin... Didn't I read somewhere that you are just on the verge of finally getting a bit of a break ????

As for what's going on... grin... who really ever knows??? One just has to emit a primal scream from time to time.

Oh and Chonsi, thank you for the welcome back. Grin!! Very much appreciated.

I just went and read the review for Wolf Creek. Australia gets loads of backpackers and one or two have come to grief, amid much publicity. (The vast majority don't of course!!). Ripe for a horror movie. While searching, I found that Wolf Creek is also a Colorado ski area.. and started to hyperventilate with passion instantly. Ski season has already begun in Australia. If I'm really lucky I may manage a few days at some stage.

Hi Bez. Enjoy your sunny lunch break!!!

Put the screwdriver down, Snooze... gently.. grin
