So anyway, we got our new car on Saturday morning (07/01) and by Saturday afternoon, we went to BBQ party that took us on a 145 R/T miles trip. We did not even get to read the owner's manual to see how all the bells & whistles worked. We just jumped in & took off. Sunday, we went to another all day BBQ party, this time only 22 miles R/T. Car still going great, still did not get to read the owner's manual. Monday we went on 164 RT miles trip, (To see TOM JONES -live) still did not get to read the manual. Today Tuesday, on the way home, (we still didn't get to read the manual) during the trip it started to rain a little. Well, all of a sudden to my surprise, the Windshild Wipers "went on automatically! Guess there must be a "rain senser" somewhere on the car. Have got to get to read that "200" page manual, to see what other hidden goodies await! ;) (Happily, the car averaged 29.4mpg, pretty darn good for a 6) :)

Lexus ES300, my first "foreign car", & I still feel a little funny about that. As I always had American brand cars! (Except for my XKE 30 yrs ago, does that count) But today, most everything made in the US, has many foreign components. Many Toyota cars are built right here in the USA, so. . . . . . .

Ghee, my car is almost 3 years old, and I have never used the cruise control yet.

But I love my Elantra.

:)

Yeah, I fumbled with the cruise control a lot all along the way. I never had one that worked like this one. Lever with a button in it, off the steering wheel. Push button in, then push lever down to set at desired speed, then push lever up to accelerate & or cancel, Have to read the manual, can't get the "Cancel" function to work. Push the lever down & hold to "coast". Note to self: When all else fails, read the directions! (I saved for "5" years for this baby, so hopefully it will be worth it when I finally learn how to use all the goodies) :)

I shall have to get out the manual to see how to work that cruise control now.

My husband got me that car for my birthday, so it is my little darling.:)

Cars, does it have that speed-sensitive volume control for your sound system? I always thought that was such a cool feature!!

Thanks cher, exterior color is really like a chameleon, it's Mystic Green, but really looks Gray/Green, then when the light hits a different way it looks Gray/Silver, Then just Gray, then sometime it looks Greenish. (Verry different) The Interior, is Ivory/Tan. Love it! I am so wanting to get a Digi camera, but I just bought a new 35mm Olympus camera 3 months ago, go figure!

(I have to get more modernized!)

I'll have to read the manual BR, the dealer guy went over sooooo many things, that there were just too many things to comprehend/remember all at once. But we had no problem listening to/ hearing the tunes at what ever speed we went. :) Sometimes we hit 75mph (Speed limit was 65) passing slow pokes!

Glad to see you are enjoying your new toy Cars. Isn't it a great feeling when you get something new that's nice and shiny, and doesn't break down within a week. :) Hehehe you know what's going to happen now that I have gone and said that now though right, sorry!!! :D
