The EU Constitutional Treaty

The EU Constitutional Treaty aims to set out, in a manner that is clear and easily understandable, the EU's values and objectives, its role and powers, its institutions and its decision-making procedures.
Most of its content is drawn directly from existing EU Treaties, and if it comes into force, it will replace all existing EU Treaties.
The EU Constitutional Treaty includes the following elements.
The Treaty states that the EU is founded on the basis of respect for:
Human dignity
Freedom
Democracy
Equality
Rule of Law
Repect of Human Rights
Pluralism
Non-discrimination
Tolerance
Justice
Solidarity
The EU aims to promote peace and shall work for sustainable development, a social market economy, full employment and a high level of environmental protection.
The EU is currently structured in three 'pillers'. The first piller deals with the internal market, the second with foreign and security policy, and the third with police and judicial co-operation.
Under the terms of the Constitutional Treaty, these three pillers shall be abolished and the EU will form a single entity, with a legal personality. This will allow the EU to sign international agreements and become a member of international organisations.

I saw that the UK has assigned several thousand soldiers for the new "EU" military force. I guess there is some talk about whether or not they will train to NATO's standards - or - whether or not they will be under NATO control? Do you have any news on this?

There is no secrecy in the EU. Anyway, everything is done for our own good,
whether or not the people who run it are elected, accountable or whatever.
We'd better accept it. There is no alternative, anyway. The constitution really
is clear, too, each of the millions of pages of other "regulatiuons" in various
languages are also equally clear. Every power that is taken away from any
soverign nation is given back in some way, improved, by our better knowing
big brothers. There is no alternative, anyway. Oh, and the moon really is
made of blue cheese.
