Oh for the love of God ! Theyre coming here this morning. :-5 We recieved a card in the mail welcoming us to the neighborhood. In the past a phone call would suffice and they send you gift certificates for Home Depot and a couple of free dinners at local restaurants and some other half decent crap. Not this time, they want to intrude and invade my quiet space. :-5 Im going to have to sit here talking nicey with some lady in order to get my free stuff. This is just wrong ! Will she take her shoes off ? Can I make her ? How long is she going to be here ?

My wife will be pissed if I leave, should I leave anyway and take my licks later ? Should I take a really really long shower ? I could just refuse to leave the puter. Theres a lock on the door, I could just pretend I cant hear my wife knocking. I could turn the music up.

Whats wrong with this lady that shes got nothing better to do than sit around drinking my coffee and probably letting it dribble out her mouth onto the white couch that Ill have to clean later ! :-5

hmmm maybe you moved into one of those Stepford neighborhoods.

My new next door neighbour intoduced themselves to the people across the road by the simple expedient of leaving the handbrake off and the gears in neutral. Seeing as how the drive was sloping the car went across the road through the fence and into the neighbours front garden parking itself in the bushes. If you want to meet everybody in the street that is the way to do it. It's even funnier when it's a new car and it was the wife that did it.

Ha-be glad they didn't take the wagon and cart you off!:wah:

questions - who are they & where do they come from, are "they" your neighbours & if so why are they giving you free stuff

when my neighbours moved in it was almost six months before we met each other

It is a nice tradition, they come over to officially welcome you to the neighborhood, they bring you goodies to eat and usually coupons for a bunch of free stuff from the local stores.

Something like that. The Wagon Ladies are not necissarily from the neighborhood, but represent the community..a kind of "Welcome to our Town" thing.
