Ghads, in the winter I'm that kid from Christmas Story with all the clothes on.............

You should have come to Cornwall for a holiday!
Yes its hot here too, but today we have a sea breeze making it just about bearable. But if you still can't stand the heat, five minutes walk away is the beach and the 'cold' sea! Ten minutes walk away is an open air swimming pool where you can ogle at the lifeguards. hehehe

Yesterday the temps topped off at 94 degrees F. It was pretty stifiling. I took a shower as soon as I got home from work. And another later in the evening. We usually eat a light dinner....sandwiches and a salad or something.
I remember one summer I was also going through some hot flashes. It was terrible...but Rick was amused because it seemed that every time I dissappeared into the bedroom, I came back out with fewer clothes on. He got a big laugh, and said he was afraind I would come out naked next. :wah:

Yes it's hot here in my neck of the woods too, the backyard thermometer "in the shade", reads "103" ! :-6 Comfortable in A/C now, but have to "go out" to the dentist at 3:30. He'd better have the A/C on high, cause I don't like going there in the first place!!! :wah:

I've coolled down for the first time today.
It was 39c this afternoon now its 8pm and still 35c with the start of a huge storm. I've been out with the dogs they were jumping around mad in the puddles and licking the rain off the floor. If its the same storm you have coming your way then your in for a treat I'm expecting it to be huge with lots of thunder and lightning.

I did hear you had a storm on the way, well if this is it I would get a video camera out. The sky has been so dark for about an hour now, lots of lovely rain huge giant drops, no sign of thunder yet but the longer it takes the better it is.
I think I'll go back out to cool off again.:wah:

Yes, but you could put an article of clothing over your head to drown out the noise and to cover your eyes...any item of clothing would do

I understand about 'smelling' them, only I'd be running for cover. I'm a wimp who has to be big and brave in front of the children!
If I think right back to my childhood I can remember watching storms with my Dad and not being scared, so I don't know how or why the fear started.

Theres something brewing out there. The bay is looking very ominous and everything keeps going quiet and still, including the seagulls!
At 1.15pm its my daughters nursery sports afternoon, then a Teddy Bears Picnic, hope the rain stays away!

Believe it or not, we actually have seagulls here in Utah. I was very surprised by that, but the little dickens must've migrated inland, which is quite a long haul from the Pacific Ocean. It's always nice to see them though, it reminds me of California.
Nice to see them!!

Rats on wings, they are evil! Although I have to say it is 'man' that has made them this way. You cannot walk along our streets any more with food in your hands, the gulls will swoop down and steal it out of your hand.
