Hey Gang --

I'll be leaving for Florida on Thursday morning 8/3 and won't be returning 'til the weekend of the 12th.

Hubby's family owns a condo there that we rent out for the winter season. We've got to have it repainted, recarpeted and get new furniture, as everything is over 20 years old and has seen better days.

I (only half-kiddingly) said to hubby that we should get a laptop; that way we can use a computer in Florida. He knows I will be going through withdrawal symptoms from my FG friends. It's true . . . I'll miss you guys.

I'll be sure to post my brains out (!) over the next two days.

Oh Cher, your gonna have a blast. I'm sure you can make it a couple of weeks, just go enjoy the beaches and think how jealous some of us will be of ya. I know I will be. :p

I'll be gone 9 days. The funny thing is that here in Boston the temperatures have been in the high 80s to high 90s for awhile now. So the Florida heat won't be that much more difficult to take. Even though it will be a working vacation, there will be no alarm clocks to wake up to

The toughest part for me is boarding Buster for the whole time.

As much as I am madly in love with Buster, I feel this is the best thing to do. I have never taken him on vacay with me. My hubby says we have to be able to have a normal vacation like two adults!

I wouldn't want to be tied down on vacay and worry about leaving him alone in a strange place (strange to him anyway).

I look at it this way: Imagine how excited Buster and I will be to see each other when I pick him up at the boarder's house!

Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder. :-4

Well, Cher, we will all be very blue while you are away from the garden, but we will survive, I am sure. Have a good time, and we will try to stay out of trouble.

Have a great time in FL cher, & bring plenty of SPF 40 with you. Even though it's hot up this way, the FL :-6 is much more brutal & "burns", not tans, way faster!

We'll miss ya, but you deserve to & it's good to get away from the regular routine every now & then.

As far as Buster, we just got through sitting for our Daughter's West Highland Terrier last week. He missed his masters for a few days, but then got to know our routine with him, & he then made out just fine. Of course he did "know" us, so that made it a little easier. Buster should do just fine also.

Again have a great time, & don't work too hard in that Condo!

Hey...there are libraries where you're going, right? Go to the library and at least say "Hi" once in a while!!!

Cher if you can't get a laptop head for a Coffee house that has Laptops....!! Heck right now Laptops are cheap with school just around the corner. Probably get one pretty cheap if you just want the basics... Come on you can talk hubby into a laptop..:rolleyes: If you don't have an internet connection in the Condo it is pointless unless you get a wireless card...

I have been talking to LC alot the past few weeks, and the weather as she puts it sucks..!! HOT AND HUMID..:-6

My last boss would occasionally get really annoyed with me because I was in a good mood most of the time. One day he called me into his office and said, "Would you please STOP being so nice to all the patients -- it's really aggravating me!" And he meant it, too.

And, because I am a major talker, my husband has said to me on occasion, "Honey, I love you, but I REALLY wish you came with a dimmer switch."

I thought that was so cute. :p
