How can you be annoyed with other posters if your purpose of being on this forum is to share views and information?

I love the women. But they seem to be taking over FG. Don't they always get their own way :wah:

I get annoyed at the ones that can't answer the point made and resort to abuse or respond to what they think has been said rather than what has been said. You can agree to disagree but at least respect someone may have a different point of view and just because you disagree does not make them an idiot.

Stop complaining, at least you get a chance to have your say before you get ignored :D

It's not the different views and information that annoys me. It's when people are put down, made fun of, called names, etc. for having a different view that annoys me.

Members who do all this may be honest in their approach or intentionally being mean. On an open forum you can never avoid meeting such people. You can only ignore them.

Peg,

That's what I would say. Thank you.

It's one thing to have a strong opinion...it's another to be abusive and rude.

So if you can not be sweetness all the time is it always necessary to answer?

I've said before some of your posts make me laugh, but some just make me boggle, as in was there any need for that or are you just being a post tart? :wah:

As you can see I am enjoying some of the older posts here and am bringing them up to date.

If anyone wants to join a "bitch" forum, go try wicked moon, then you can get your fill of back stabbing, name calling, petty insults and general garbage. If any of you think others are so bad here, you ain't seen nothing yet til you go there.

SHEESH!

Maybe I'm thick skinned, but after 40+ years in the corporate world of the scientific community, I can't ever remember having to put a bandaid over a "word wound". Frankly, I'd much rather have an insult than PC-speak, or bland innocuous blithering. Perhaps if we communicated more clearly, exercised the tolerance we expect from others, and spent as much time trying to comprehend, as we do looking for insults, we might eventually appreciate each other for the individuals we really are.:yh_think :yh_questn

Not everyone is computer savy. Although computer communicating has been here for a long time... there are people who are tenatively are putting there toes in the water, and trying it. When a new user discovers hostility, or yet another situation where there is an arena to be attacked, they decide not to continue. Of course it is not the responsibility of experts to train new users, but a great deal of new "talent is lost" if the enviornment is unpleasant. My experience here, has encouraged me to continue learning to communicate, this way. And thats quite a surprise, because I am someone who never thought I would spend 5 minutes sitting at a computer. I dont even remember how I found this place.......But I have

excitedly told my friends about it. Its good. I enjoy the way most of you feel such a responsibility to keep it intelligent, fufilling, and gratifying. Looking forward to a new year, as not SUCH a novice, and getting to know and enjoy all of you.

Weeder, you have toned down quite a bit. I remember your initial responses to me? WE are writing here and expressing thoughts, to be defensive bypasses the conversation? Its good to get a little fired up, its natural! But to hold feelings against others is a disability in my opinion. Whether we see faces or just read, we make opinions of people immediately? right? Have Fun! :-6

Paula I missed reading your posts over the past few days.

I have a friend who insists on going to a forum where people call themselves her friends but then attack her for something that happened at the end of last year and is due to depression.

Just as recently as Christmas eve they all turned on her again, questioning her parenting skills when she had in a previous post said how seeing as the children were still awake she was still up waiting to wrap presents so Santa could drop them off in their room.

I know how hard she worked this year to keep it together and she struggled to buy the things the children wanted.

So I lost my temper and went in having a rant at them all, I was joined by another two of her real friends and we told them exactly what they were in adult terms abusive but at the same time polite enough not to be banned. To be honest I doubt if they even knew what some of the words meant.

I really don't think anyone here is as bad as they are, and I love Paula's plant euphemisms, they at least put a smile on my face.

Letha, my luv, as i start my Celebrating this evening with friends, we will find some real good plants to identify the troubled persons in your post. People who GANG up on others have a WEAKNESS, so there has to be means to over-come and plants that relate to humilation, we will find those plants, in the mean-time have fun, i have had (3) chocolates and now they want me to drink booze, i'm going to try. Bye...the plant person...you can always talk to a plant, they don't talk back, but grow....stunted plants with poor growth, show a come back, upon speaking to them! :-6
