I prefer The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. not sure if it plays in other countries or not, but you can find numerous clips on youtube, google video, etc.
while 100% opposite of the madcap humor they're known for, the video of stewart upon their return to the air a week or so after 9/11/2001 is worth watching. it is deeply, extraordinarily, moving.

I no longer trust the BBC, NBC in their ability to inform me of what is REALLY going on in the world, so decided some time ago to locate a reliable news site. Now I am confident of producing a good standpoint when arguing the toss down the pub and am no longer ridiculed
