Whats the longest drive you have ever done to see a friend? I have done 400 miles so far as my record......... Not very impressive as I bet there are much longer journeys! :driving:

Is it 400 to you then??

How many hours is that exactly?

I'd guess Cambridge to Oban - not sure of the distance (about 350 miles?) but it took 10 hours.

On the west coast of Scotland about half way between Glasgow and Fort William.

A beautiful town with Palm trees on the sea front and a picture postcard harbour

St Louis, Missouri to Poughkeepsie, NY - across Pennsylvania in winter storms, to see one friend. No idea how long that is. Then from there to Atlanta, GA to see another friend. Quite a road trip. But friends are worth it. Does flying from continent to continent in the first place count? Oz to US is quite a way. Oz to UK is even further of course. Still, always worth it. Hey, Edmonton, Alberta to Oklahoma City.. that was an interesting journey too..

Betty, I would recommend that wherever you're going, a Cornish lass such as yourself should head north :D

Sadly we had to take the M6 across the border (my wife was asleep at the time) but the rest was all 'A' roads.

First bridge over the border was adorned with "English bastards go home" - charming!

Wonderful - and to think I chose Cambridge and Oban because I wasn't sure our overseas friends would know Royston and Erskine by Connel.

Do you know I'm not entirely sure where she lives!

Do you think it's a good idea to follow a blonde hamster 'up north'

Will I ever make it back to Cornwall again.

Will I be able to understand a word anyone says?

Will they be able to understand me?
