I brought my golden poppies here with me to plant, I loved those as a child.

I know our favorite field to play in, with a tree house and all, is that Irwindale Speedway now.................................

Snooze I can assure you it has probably been developed big time.. But there are still some pretty canyons left.

Carla, we could check it out when we go to picket the Monday Night Footballers. . .

Snooze Mission Valley is all condo's now and a stadium. There are still a few canyons around but not many. If you were talking about Adobe Falls, gone as well condo's. San Diego State come all the way down to the freeway now massive and a trolly line runs from downtown the Encanto.

The other canyon by Mission Valley that we as kids called the HOLE, is gone as well now highway 15 with condo, and house all the way to the checkpoint. Plus any number of shopping center Walmarts you name it.. The Chargers taining camp is in the canyon I use to play in. Let me know where else you want to know about.

Carla, is that the trolley I saw along the highway or a train? Or are there both? I used to go to San Diego a lot, 15 years ago. Now that I've moved back to the area, I'll be taking the drive over. I stopped at Viejas (sp) on this trip. And Trader Joe's and Soup Plantation.

I grew up in Kansas and then moved to Pennsylvania. I always dragged my relatives and friends around on a nostalgia trip. The longer I was away, the worse they got. I'd ask the new tenants or homeowners to let me come in and look around. THEN with the advent of camcorders, I took videos, which now sit in my cabinet. Before my mother moved from Kansas I took her around so I could video tape:rolleyes: her in her old houses. Talk about EXTREME nostalgia!

I'd like to be a teen again for a day.....young and free and hanging out with my friends....:-6

Sneeze, one of the 1st things I did when I moved back home was go to my elementary school. Its not a school now but some type of community center. But nothing has changed. I mean nothing. The walls, the floors, the smell, even the little itty bitty drinking fountains. I just walked in and walked the halls looking around. *sigh* It was nice.

I wish I could go back to Torquay where I lived as a child. In those days, there was so much to explore and find. Even school was interesting.

But when I did go back there, the place was so small to what I remembered and I felt like some kind of giant intruder.

Torquay, days of sunshine, seashells, crabs, mussells. Winters of deep snow, sledges, snowballs.

Sigh. It all went downhill when we left Torquay.
