Anyway, some guy comes up to me and says "are you Mary?" to which I obviously say yes, because that IS my name, right? Then I started freaking out... how did he know my name, why would he know my name, I've never seen this guy before, is he a Russian spy, BBFB (blah blah f*cking blah) Okay, that last bit is an exaggeration.

My point is, why did he creep me out? He was a fairly attractive guy, and he didn't smell bad. My initial reaction was "yeah, that's me! :D HI! Who are you!?!" but then I got sort of creeped out because he said he knew me from somewhere I used to work five years ago. Five years ago!?! Huh uh. Something's wrong here.

Too suspicious of me?

take action quick like, ask him on a date ahahahahahahaha

Naw relax be more worried if he knew your address and phone number.

I see people that I haven't see for years all the time! They always know who i am, but i never know who they are til they tell me. It's always somebody from high school or my bartending days. They always say the same thing, "You look exactly the same". I don't know if that's a compliment or what! :-3

A mystery man! If you don't remember him, but have those bad vibes, you must have had a good reason.

Something similar happened to me once. I was shopping in a city about 20 miles from where I live. I went into a craft shop that sold all this lovely quartz jewellery and those huge pieces of quartz, like giant geodes. Anyway, I'd never been in there before, but the owner came out and said "You're a long way from M Street"

I was shocked! How did this stranger know where I lived?

I must have looked startled so he chuckled and explained that he lived across the road from me in a house which always had its curtains shut. He obviously peeped out and watched people coming and going. Wierd! :-2

That is weird.

When I was in high school I worked at a movie theater and you had to wear these awful name tags. This guy that came to the movies all the time insisted on calling me by name when he saw me away from work I saw him every where and he would call my name like we were old friends, I never knew his name either. It freaked me out. :(

I went to a class reunion and this guy said, "Oh, I was hoping you'd show up." I didn't have a clue who he was. I said, "I'm sorry but I don't remember your name." He told me. I still didn't have a clue. then he said, "I used to know you when we were in 2nd & 3rd grade." Well he must not have been high on my list. I do remember the ones who tied me to a tree, but he wasn't one of them.:wah:

*sigh* life is good. :D

I once saw a fairly large tortoise made from green quartz. Each square of his shell was made from a different piece of quartz and all in slightly different shades, eg, greeny-blue or purplish-green, and then his body and feet were carved from one single piece of greeny quartz. It was very unusual and very beautiful and well over £100 to buy. I didn't have the money at the time, and when I did have the money and went back . . . it was gone! Sadly.

I love the huge pieces of amethyst quartz you can buy, and I would LOVE to own one of those globes where each country is fashioned from a semi-precious stone.

They are SO gorgeous! (But SO expensive!) **sigh**

Oh, that is so neat, snooze! I still have old fossil rocks I found when I was a kid, I've always kept them. I always buy sea shells or pretty stones when on vacation, and bring them back. I have a tiger eye stone from Mexico up on my dresser. It is very pretty. The glint of gold in it reminds of the golden beaches that were there.

I did a geology course a long while ago and became fascinated by rocks and minerals because of it. I have a collection of trilobites and ammonites, as well as iron pyrites, feldspars, titanium, quartzes and geodes and also some Blue John fluorospar from the Blue John Mine in Derbyshire.

A couple of years ago I bought each of my kids a treasure chest which had their birth sign on it. Inside was a huge stone with their star sign engraved on it and hundreds of tiny pieces of semi-precious stones. They were really beautiful. My daughter has got quite into it and she loves to collect the pretty semi-precious stones. She's pinched most of my collection and has some some lovely stones of her own. including a gorgeous slice of blue lace agate, which I love.

Yes Snoozie you should be flattered

Do you think you may have a 'negative filter' that you see things through? Could that have altered your perception of this?

I think people meet people in strange ways.

Then you hear the good story after they've been married for 50 years :-4

which is so great :-6
