I've been hogging Theias computer all evening, so I'd better head homewards.



My sides ache from laughing too much today. Theia and I set out to find the Lost Gardens of Heligan, but seeing as they're lost we gave up pretty soon and headed to Trebah instead.

We were ladies wot lunch.

I told Theia that the gardens were just the spot for my next marriage proposal :wah: it was so beautiful there.

About half an hour later we came upon a Carp pond and I said 'I've picked my spot' (referring to where my future intended would get down on one knee) Theia in a loud voice screamed at me 'No, it'll spread' to which I looked at her blankly then realised she thought I'd picked a spot (strange seeing as I haven't got any!).

I think the people around us thought we were nuts because we then collapsed into fits of laughter, the part that really finished me off was when Theia pointed out she'd made a dooble entendre, not double but 'dooble' :rolleyes:

I have spent 57 years saying "dooble" entendre. How embarrassing...I checked with my bloke with a sexy voice on answers.com. Even he let me down, and I could almost hear a smirk in his voice as he pronounced, "double entendre." In front of Betty too! I shall never live it down. Where on earth did I get "dooble" from?

We had such a lovely day, Chonsi, laughing at just about everything. I was supposed to know the way to Trebah (Betty is so trusting) and well, we ended up on a single track road with grass growing up the centre. But Betty coped and I just made helpful comments like, "This is a bit narrow," or "Actually I haven't got a clue where we are." Did Betty get cross? No, we both just giggled our way through. We jigged around in our seats to Shakira, on the cd player, and at one point, even Betty's car was joining in, just like the ads...a dancing car, magical. Not quite "shaking its ass" because its a different make, but still a good mover.

Betty is brilliant and amusing company but that said, no, Arnie, we aren't getting married!! We are just good friends. But I'm going to be there at Trebah, hiding in the bushes near the Carp Pond, when some lovely (and lucky) man proposes to her.

Sad to say, Abbey, Betty did not wear her lovely brown cardi. I think she was nervous. It turned out to be a warm day, the sort of day when cardis might be discarded and slung loosely :sneaky: around the shoulders. Betty was understandably nervous and so wore her pink one which, though pleasant, I do not covet.

Do I have to have a hat? I will if it means I'm an important person at your wedding (hint hint). As a mere guest, I shall remain hatless. But as the person who was the first to know where the marriage proposal will take place, I think I'm more than mere.

We will, no fear of that, though I will pass on the rather dry blackcurrant and yoghurt cake. And we'll take left turns all the way to avoid the single track roads with the grass. Will that work though

We really ought to seriously consider a Cornwall FG meet. Betty and I would have some spectacular places to show everyone.

His numberplate was covered up :-5 . I followed him round a roundabout and let him believe I was following him up the bypass but I shot off through a town instead, luckily I didn't encounter him again. Stupid boy!

If ever you come across him again, don't hesitate to report him mentioning that his number plate was covered up. Description of the car with make, model and colour can be enough to give the police a lead. A description of him too would be just as helpful. If you still have that info, report him. He's a danger and could cause an accident if he plays with a more nervous driver.

Had the police station in the town I drove through been manned I would have stopped and reported him. All I have to go on though is that the car was silver! I couldn't even begin to identify the model it was so souped up it was un-recognisable.

It might be worthwhile keeping a camera handy. The chances of coming up against him again are pretty low though.

Hey, I wore a rather blue mean one (Betty calls it more of a purpley) with a raggedy tie bit round the middle that Betty had to keep picking up from the path because it seemed determined to get away. What with "Don't pick that spot!" and "Watch you don't lose your thingey!" and the very large bag of buy three get one free greengage jam. we must have made a very odd couple.

I was fully prepared for that, Nomad. When Betty suggested the worm pie with garlic slug dressing and a side snail, I swiftly pleaded vegetarianism and went for the deep filled dandelion quiche with sauteed twigs and a sprinkling of freshly harvested lawn trimmings.

And I take offence at the suggestion that either of us would eat in our cardigans. Prior to eating we both, without fail, adhere to the ancient British custom of cardigan shedding. We do have manners you know!!

Well I hope they've finished the road improvements down here by then! Theres a new bypass and roundabouts being built, they don't exist on Sat nav's. Theres been absolute confusion. :driving:

Hi Cher...not actually moved yet.....the wheels of solicitors, surveyors , landlords and decorators turn S L O W over here. Looks like the end of August / first week September before we all move.....my youngest son here where I currently live (and he was bought up) and me to the flat I'm going into on a temporary basis. It's been never ending sorting, packing and cleaning for weeks now.....still won't be long.....can't wait. :-6
