Hey all. I'm back at the library. Unfortunately, my computer is shot. Hard drive is fried, and I'm looking at a whole new system. I may be able to get my old one rebuilt, but it may be worth it just to start over. Regardless, everything in my hard drive is lost, which really sucks ass, but...what can you do?

Anyway, Bullet's been moved out of quarantine into his regular facility, and sometime in the beginning of October things will start moving on is appeal. Thanks to everyone who's written, and continues to write both to me and to him. What have I missed out on now???

Hi BR. Good to see you. Not alot has been happening. Yesterday, though the forum gremlins were at work and alot of us had troubles with posting, and the time and everything. Seems gthe system mysteriously rebooted itself yesterday morning, and it sure was not alot of fun.

Well, I am sure October cannot come soon enough for you.

Sorry to hear about the computer. But with prices so low these days, you may be better off just starting from scratch and getting a new one.

welcome back, well let's see

we have had 3 divorces, 7 babies born, one 50th anniversary, 19 marriages, and 52 job promotions and well not much really happening beyond that.

Pity about your hard drive, I hope you didn't loose anything drastically important, I would be a mess as my pics (cause I am lazy) are all on my puter.

Good to see you back.

Hey Minksie, I have lost a lot of pics, too. But there were so many on my email, I should be able to retreive most of them, and we also have the hard copies of a lot of them, so no major loss. Just this being offline sucks!! I like to sit in front of my own computer, drinking my coffee in my jammies if I want to!!

Marie, you're right, October cannot get here soon enough. He's doing ok, though. Adjusting, and realizing that he's not going to be there for 17 years.

Hi Sunny!!!! :yh_bigsmi

Oh Criss :-4

I missed you too

Truly :-6

Vacation was a lot of hard work redoing the condo that hubby's family owns, but we got in some nice beach time and some nice dinners.

It really *does* feel different without you around. The 'chemistry' has changed.

Come back

I love you, you know :)

Welcome back, BR. You're a ray of sunshine. Pleased to hear the news about Bullett. Roll on the day he gets out.

Hard drives are very easy to replace you know. They're cheap too. Are you sure it's only the hard drive that's gone down?

Hi BR, it probably would be worth it to consider sending the old puter to the puter bone yard! Just yesterday, "DELL" advertised a brand new system for $279.99, & that included 3 to 5 days "free" shipping! (Time payments available) That's a pretty darn good price, as fixing the old one could probably cost close to that anyway. And if the old one was repaired, you'll still probably have many "old" components that were not needed to be replaced at that time, but are still worn, & could break down in the future. Well either way, your info on the old HD is lost, so. . . . .

Good Luck in what ever you decide!

*Waves to BR* How are you living without a computer? I'd go crazy! There's a lot of good sales going on with school starting soon.

Backups, that's what you can do. DVDs are cheap.

This is what I'm talking about.. excellent idea Floppy and it should work.. your going to need a big jump drive pic are very large. You could always burn CD's. All is not lost BR you have techies in the house..:D Get your behind back here soon.

Yes hard drive can be replaced but in this day and age sometimes it is cheaper to just get a new faster than the speed of sound new one.

I miss you...!! :-4
Send me your old hard drive. If it was your operating system that went belly up (as was suggested in an email) I can simply make yours a slave and pull pics and anything else you want off of it and throw it on a jump drive for you.

It'll help keep me off the streets at night..
Floppie's offer is a great idea. Then, whatever you do, new PC or what, install a drive caddy and keep two hard drives, one for back up of the other. Of course, you will need a drive inside the PC to transfer the files between the two caddy drives.
