Not sure where this thread should go, so it's in "chit chat".

An elderly Indian has fathered a child at the age of 80something, ISTR. Perhaps

not so unusual for old males (given the opportunity).

We (humans) are living longer than ever before.

I remember a story reported about a Fr3nch woman, who (under Fr3nch law)

left her house to an estate agent, as long as he supported her (?) during

her lifetime. That was when she was 70 or so, and he was 40-something.

Surprisingly, she lasted a very long time, and outlived him, thus getting her

property back (as well as having been supported during his lifetime, 40 to ?).

Does anyone remember that story, from 15 or 20 years ago (maybe)?

In 50 years' time, what will life expectancy be?

My question is why would anyone even WANT a baby at that age? can you imagine trying to keep up with it?

As for greater longevity...not sure I am in the mood to live all that long.

Why do people of *any* age want 'em? I could do with one or two more, and I

ain't no spring chicken (although I am not indescribably ancient, either!).

At 80, like the Indian gentleman? I doubt he'll be playing football with his boy,

but he could well hang around long enough to make a useful contribution...

What about the longevity forecast, etc.?

Bring on Longevity I embrace the thought.... my grandma lived well until 90 and at 95 she passed away her last 5 years started to slow her down.

My other side I have great grand parents who lived into their 90's and my grand parents into their late 80's and both my parents still live though neither have hit 75 yet but bring it on I hope I do grow to be old.
