The ear I wear an earring in has been sore. I went to take the earring out but the back was missing. Still I couldnt pull it out. After really struggling and some pain it finally came. Theres a hard bump on the back of my earlobe. Is it possible that the back of the earring got sucked into my ear ?

Hmm....I wouldn't think so, Nomad. I would expect the bump is probably some infection from being irritated by the earring and maybe that's why your earring was stuck.

Is the piercing new? When I first got my ears pierced, one became infected, and I had to let it heal over and get it repierced. Does the area feel warm to the touch? Get to a doctor.

Ignore the others, Nomad. What's on the back of your ear lobe is an ALIEN EGG! My suggestion? Rub as much Neosporin (or the generic equivalent) into it as often as you can remember.

Neopsporin (or the generic equivalent) will neuter the ALIEN EGG and stop its growth.

Otherwise, you (and all of humanity) are doomed.

If the back of the earing was small, then yes it is possible for it to embed itself in your ear lobe...but unlikely. go to the Doc. if you are concerened.

If it's got infected it might cause a small lump to form...this should go when it heals....use a small ring in your ear while it heals.

You're a brave person if you use peroxide...geez that stuff stings !

Not sucked into your ear but its possible the butterfly has been pushed on to tight , the skin got infected (and this happened to the sprog) the skin started growing over the back of the butterfly( thats what the back of the earring is called ) .First put loads of antiseptic on the ear if the skin has grown over it may need to be snipped out .You will need to see your doctor - i think you've just had the butterfly pushed on to tight .

Self cleaning only holds the water a little longer than if you just run a cycle. It has a filter so I think its going to be ok.

The color is called Sombrero. Kind of a deep rusty sunset. Ill take a pic if it ever happens.

Well heres an update on Nomads ear trauma. I was right. The back or butterfly if you want to get technical got sucked up into my ear. I just came from the ear trauma specialist and she removed it. I know you have been dying to hear this news. Im going to eat pizza now.

Also she didnt mention anything about alien eggs.

True story. When I was 15 I got an earring. I wore it for three months then took it out. I guess it was just too soon.



To this day I have a lump in that earlobe. Occassionally it swells and I squeeze it like a pimple.
