A fare-dodging Russian couple tried to avoid buying a train ticket for their three-year-old daughter by packing her in a suitcase. But a local news agency reported how their plan hit a snag when they arrived at a Moscow train station and stopped off for a few drinks.

While their attention was diverted, thieves made off with the suitcase. Their daughter was later found wandering the streets. The thieves had set her free from the case, but kept the case.

Their daughter was picked up by police. Her parents will appear in court later.

I read many years ago about a Mexican family living in the U.S. who wanted to take grandma home to Mexico before she died. Sadly, she died while they were there. They didn’t have much money so they wrapped her up in a tarp and placed her on top of their station wagon so she would look like luggage, then they drove for home in the U.S.. They made it across the border okay and stopped at a café for something to eat. While they were eating someone stole their car.
