In the last few months I have "discovered" Miles Davis. I knew who he was before I just could not appreciate the music. My tastes have changed and now I am all about Miles Davis. I would like to find other artists who play in a similar style. Can anyone recommend??

I recommend the hittest british punk band the Clash..anyone heard their soundtracks..?

You might enjoy Stan Getz (sax), Dave Bruebeck (piano), Gerry Mulligan (sax)

There aren't many artists remotely similar to Miles Davis... he was way ahead of his time... he created some crazy stuff... I've got quite a collection myself. Let's see... You might want to check out these: Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus, Chick Corea's earlier stuff... up till "Eye of the Beholder" maybe..., Nina Simone, Charlie Parker, Pat Metheny... sometimes he hits and sometimes he misses... that cat does some pretty crazy stuff too..., Rick Braun...

Sticking to jazz trumpet, nobody mentioned Wynton Marsalis for some reason. Well worth listening to for comparison, and if you can find Lee Morgan that might excite you.

Actually, l love to hear a mellow and romantic songs, but, I'm also curious to knew the late famous band before...like the Clash Band.. Some of their albums have a meaningful message like the the Earthquake Weather and the London Calling....Earthquake Weather was composed when there was an earthquake in California and the London Calling relates at london...watch this guys!:guitarist

I'd recommend anything by The Moody Blues, especially their older stuff.
