This family is a bunch of morons. You do not give up your pet because it messes in the neighbor's flowerbed. You take responsibility and keep the pet inside where it's safer anyway. What did they show their kid? That you dump animals when they become inconvenient. That's the part that bothers me, not harassing an old lady. Dang this kind of people ticks me off!!

Sorry, allow me to recompose myself.
:wah:
Okay. I had the same problem with the article that RedGlitter had (I swear I'm not stalking you:p ): I see no point in giving away the cat when training it to use the kitty litter and keeping it inside would have solved the problem. Of course the kid misses his cat and of course he's pissed at the old witch. Of course the trial is ridiculous, and I'm happy the judge concurred. But the victim is the poor animal, who lost her family and ended up in a shelter, most likely (unless they had the heart to find her a good family). Honestly, I can't stand people like that.

I have a problem with irresponsible owners but it is very difficult
getting most of them to change their ways... it just doesn't happen.
And cat poop in your garden is just the worst, I hate it. Not to mention
it's unhealthy as hell and they are predators for the birds that come
to my bird baths, as well.
You can fight that battle until you're blue in the face and as long as
you live in the suburbs, it does no good. People will always be people!

cat poop from an outdoor cat is very very toxic to a human fetus.... other peoples cats left to poop all over the place are leaving nasty time bombs for unsuspecting pregnant woman who do yard work
BAD OWNERS!!!!!!

This whole story is rediculous. I'm with the kid on this one, and I wouldn't get rid of my cat, for ANYBODY!!
The fact that the police were called because a cat messd up a flower bed, that's just downright evil! And that the kid meowing at the old bat got to trial? Wow!
Drunk drivers can run over motercycles, but you better not meow at your neighbor.

Cats will and do poop anywhere but their own gardens. But, they can be trained to use a litter tray. This won't stop them from pooping in other people's gardens. On the other hand, if you let a cat feel at home in your garden and home, it won't poop in your garden either.
Nonetheless, the boy should not be allowed to show disrespect in this way. He should be taught to give his opinion politely.
As for the old lady, she should know better. No one can control a cat's activities outside. You can only earn their respect. But to take the boy to court is just vindictive. It is far more effective to ignore such taunts and she is old enough to know this.

Minks's daughter pooped in the neighbors' flowers??????
:wah:
I'm with the rest of you....keep the cat indoors and teach the child about committments and responsible pet care.
