I would think that the cost of "teaching the IDF a lesson" was an extremely expensive one for the people of Lenannon, and perhaps they would not feel quite as triumphalist about the recent conflict as a lot of armchair observers are. I think both sides made gross errors of judgement hezbollah in the cost to the state they claim to be defending, and Irsrael in jumping to military solutions that their own military are unwilling to undertake. Hopefully both sides will learn some sort of lessons, and perhaps such a large loss of life can be avoided over such small provocations in future.
