I was thinking about shaving my head. Have any of you guys done this ? Ive got a full head of hair but I keep it short so its not far to go. Is it a pain in the ass ? If you have done this was it just too freaky at first ?

I've done it before now, for work related reasons. Use some clippers on the 0 setting, finish off with a razor (get a friend to do this, it's soooo easy to miss a bit) and use plenty of moisturiser, believe me, it may well itch quite a lot at first, mine did.

Keep it shaven often, and you will eventually be able to stop using the moisturiser. Be carefull in the sun!!! remember, that area of the body isn't used to getting a lot of sun, so it is super sensitive!!:)

FYI - my husband keeps his head shaved. I think it is positively sexy.

You should go for a mowhawk....that's in..went to the fair after my little brother got one and there were kids left and right with them...even girls(ok there were no girls but).

If you don't like that, you can just shave it all off, no turning back then.

Think of the fun you & Mrs. Nomad can have, shaving symbols and arcane designs into your hair! Then...when you've done that....you just shave the rest! I like it. Photos, please.

When my husband first told me he was going to shave his, I said, "I won't be seen with you." He did it and I absolutely love it. (Although I think there may be issues since he did it even with my threat :wah: )

Well, I read it too. . . but I think you should know, there's many woman out there (me included) who find shaved bald headed men sexy. Please note: I specifically said "shaved" bald headed men, cause men with receeding hair lines and comb overs?? Yea, I don't find that sexy. . . at all.

The only experience I had with this was before my chemo took FULL effect. I shaved my head and then the hair kept growing for 2 weeks .........sort of.......it itched a lot.

Nomad how many lumps and bumps do you have on your head .... everyone will show now till it tans up a bit. I like men with shaved head as well, but if you got a full head of hair your will be shaving it every week..:-2 Leave your hair alone till you start going bald then shave it.. my opinion of course..

I may get heat for this, but I like a full head of hair. Shaved heads just eek me out ... you know, they remind me of skulls :wah:

If heads are anything like legs, it'll probably itch badly if you don't stay on the ball. And I can say from experience that staying on the ball is pretty time consumming :wah: Or else ... you're in gorilla land. Not to mention that if you don't like it, you'll look like a parolee while it's growing back *shudder*

No heat too be caught.

shaveing your head is a personal preffrence.And it is a commitment.You do have too work at it as much as you would if you had long hair.

It's not for everyone,and not everyone likes it.

That reminds me of being at a friends house one evening, my friend left her razor on the side of the bath, her little sister went for a bath and had a bit of an experiment with the razor. When she came out the bathroom and re-joined us in the sitting room we all sat there for an hour looking at her thinking there's something not quite right here, eventually I noticed her eyebrows were missing, boy did we laugh, she didn't need to be grounded, she was too ashamed to go out! :wah:

I shaved my head bald in 1999 and kept it that way for two years. I found that I needed a wolly hat to stop me from bumping it on sharp objects when I was working. No hair to warn me that something is close to my head.

In the end, I decided it didn't suit me. So now I keep it shaved to a no. 2. I prefer this more.

It's worth a try just to see what it's like. The hair will grow back quickly. You will need to protect your baldness from the elements. You will hear those rain drops drumming on your pate let alone feel how cold they are. But, watch out, right after shaving, your head is so smooth, hats tend to slide about.
