i hope i'm doing this right. i kinda feel like i just entered a support group and i need to stand and say "hello, ummm, i'm new here ummm, like the rest of you and umm, ummmmm " (slowly sitting back down in the circle) i think i skipped a step or two cause i went straight to the forum. I'm kinda reserved so as far as here in the intro. probably won't say to much. i'm already a misunderstood individual, so first impressions really aren't my thing. i more prefer to blend i think.

Hi Karen!

We've already met in another thread but I'd like to properly welcome you too. Welcome to Forum Garden! I think you'll really like it here.

Just curious about your screen name. Do you own a vineyard? I've always wanted to visit one, maybe to balloon over Napa Valley some time. :)

Hi Karen, I like you already! :D

I'm also a misunderstood individual - I think most folks just think I'm weird! :wah:

But FGers are very forgiving (I bet everyone has SOME weird genes) so just comealong in and join in the fun!

And if you do have a vineyard you'll be VERY popular with this bunch of alcofrolics! :wah:

Thankyou sooo much. i didnt expect such a warm welcome. i chose the vineyard as part of my screen name because a vineyard is a wealth of fruit that gives and gives for as long as you love it, and i have a family that with every generation has brought a wealth of knowledge, inventions, things that in many ways have changed how we live. many of those things most of you have seen or heard of that otherwise you'd never know. I'm not the bragging type so i will leave those things for you to ask me what the hell im talkin about. im sorry i write so much like a hillbilly. for the most part if i'm writing casually to whoever, im gonna write how id say it. one of the things that i do with my life is in contradiction to it but nobody ever said ya had a fit a stereotype right? when it comes to the internet im about as paranoid as you can get when it comes to detailed info. youll never catch given out numbers or full names, addresses and stuff. i've had bad luck with that. probably because i just realized the horse shoe i put on my barn was upside down, so who knows, maybe it'll be ok now. LOL.

one hint to conclude this particular post: if you read my profile you'll know why i picked Roy Rogers for an avatar under my screen name

sorry, i gotta put something funny on here because there's nobody else to tell it to. its 3 in the mornin' and i got up to leave the computer room and tripped over a laundry basket full of clean clothes. well it didnt go anywhere when i kicked it. i turned the light on and in this rectangular basket, on the clean clothes, my 4yr old daughter and my chow mix dog are curled up, the dogs head is on her back and her head's on the dogs back all smushed in there fast asleep. that if any moment ever did, called for sneakin' a picture. no matter how tough my world gets, i'll always love my life. hey, that should be my little signature motto. i think it will. "no matter how tough my world gets, i'll always love my life" what do ya think? a keeper?

:wah: :-4 That's definitely a Kodak moment if not a Hallmark one! That's really cute.

I just dropped by your profile and was really pleased to read about your relation. I won't give it away before the others go read. :D

That might be a cool thread idea- "who are you related to or have a connection to that is famous?" My great grandparents used to allegedly know the Youngers (the outlaws) and there has been talk of us being a distant relation of Will Rogers. I can't prove them though.

I for one, would be interested in hearing about these inventions you mentioned. :)

much appreciated on the profile thing. i dont mind tellin on the other stuff since i was asked. im just that type of person that i'll answer if im asked so i dont feel like a "look at me" type'a person. (taking deep breath to get started, are ya ready for this?) my grandpa Bob, as i call him designed computers and systems for the shuttles of NASA. he talks of the systems that blew up in the shuttle that exploded in '83 in a desperate tone. many were unique to that mission, and since his retirement a decade or so ago many more have been based soley on the systems. have ya heard of couples using mediation during a divorce or marital support? Also now used in schools for students with conflict. Dispute Resolution. the mainstream effect and architecture was the brainchild of my uncle in Washington DC. He's done about everything from beginning it in the school systems starting now and moving from the east coast over, to writing and co writing the books on it which have a couple times wound up on coffee tables everywhere from movies to coffee shops, legal libraries, libraries etc. he's also a prestigious attorney known well in DC for working with everyone from the first president George Bush, private practice etc. he teaches law a prestigious university in Washington, and runs a bed and breakfast housing the average tourist to the nations government officials. if you ever get divorced, or have kids in school that wind up in mediation, you've mostly to thank my uncle for that one. He was also to blame for the recent past 2 decades of change towards the Bar Association on HIV and AIDS. He's been one of the primary supporters of the Project Woman program for more years than i can count due to his large involvment of prosecution in Domestic Violence cases around the nation. (another big breath) he's currently assisting me as writings are gaining more and more eyes of editors, several editors and publishing companies now making requests. hopefully i'll be on the shelves soon. editors favorite picks have been my poetry depictions of childrens stories. they've all been copyrighted so no wierdo can take off with 'em that i'm developing for children to retain a better memory of 'em sort of like the ABC song instead of just saying it. thats why i tell ya i write like a hillbilly in casual conversationals because i suppose i kind of talk like one. as long as im not in a professional setting. i gotta be me sometimes ya know. im only suits and french manicures when have'ta be. lol. otherwise im out on my 2 acre little piece of heaven in cut offs bein' the man and woman of the house. there's grandpa Ray that founded the town of Ray Ohio down towards Kentucky. and ofcourse there's Leonard to read on in the profile as to not defeat the purpose. my wrists are killin me so i'll continue after while so my hands dont fall off and everyone goes blind wishing for this to have an end somewhere. lol. later gator!

Today is the day

Yesterday's dead end

Is now a new way

There are not enough moons

Too few burning suns

Grace the sky at high noon

Only one mind to fill

Your own little garden

That you don't need to till

Take a risk, take a chance

There's no greater gift

Than that of free will

Hi Karen --

BabyRider (BR) is a member here who was in a bad motorcycle accident a few weeks ago. She was hit by a drunk driver. She's recuperating but the process is long.

We all love her so we keep her presence alive and well in the Garden! :-6

well everyone has been a friend to me without knowin' me at all, so i will also keep her in my thoughts same as i would a friend that i know. when my father was 19 my mother was 22 and expecting me when he was in a potentially fatal motorcycle accident when a traffic signal wasnt obeyed by the pick up truck driver. he almost lost his leg but to this day you can feel the finger imprints as they molded him back together. humans with willpower have a miraculous way of healin' themselves somehow. if ya see me around keep me posted.

in regards to your name there i guess i felt like the guppy in the fish bowl. i gotta soft spot for the wild life. ive a couple acres and take in so many hurt ones the nice vet down the road lets me take in my own for checks for free. had a squirrel in Maryland that was hurt. tried lettin' it go a couple miles away, the thing came back! waited on the porch every day and jumped on my lap and i fed it every day. I had the neighbors come over to sometimes to help cause i knew i was leavin. luckily i gotta a call a month later and he'd taken to 'em just fine. hes a bit fat as youd assume, but hes just fine. i got video of em before i left and he was crawlin' all over the camera so his face was in the lens upside down the whole time, and i had to keep pushin' his hind end outa my face. i miss him. called him screech.
