Well they did it again, according to Adam's it's Paisley's fault and vice versa, what is the plural for Deja Vu?

Not only IMO will they "not be seen to give up their guns", they just won't give them up - or only a few rusty relics.

I know that this is a very niaive idea but how about both sides telling their respective leaders to bloody get on with it, I dont mean IRA, UFF etc I mean ordinary Catholics and Protestants who just want a peaceful life, Don't think it will happen but you can always hope.

You can always hope, yes. It seems to me that most ordinary people there are not as extreme, and that without extremism the problem would die rather quickly. It also seems to me that terrorism practiced by either side has had a net result of sweet FA....

I'll just say that I'm behind the DUP on this one. Don't give them an inch.

I would want to see decommissioning of all weapons, legal and illegally held weapons in Northern & Southern Ireland.

Although the British and Irish Governments are still hopeful of some sort of a Peace in the province of Northern Ireland. Its only a matter of time when the terrorists take up the gun once again.

From well before the Leeds Castle talks up to the collapse of the early December deal to restore an excutive to Northern Ireland, the two main players were Gerry Adams and Ian Paisley. Adams played for political advantage, and did so quite cynically.

Ian Paisley played for Northern Ireland's future, went close to the edge of being drawn into an irreversible invoement, but then drew back. In this he salvaged his own and his party's position.

He sits now, reasonably solid, and with no need to talk to anyone, least of all the two heads of Government, Tony Blair and Bertie Ahern. They are paying the price of having treated him with prejudice, acting in favour of Sinn Fein IRA and against every one else.



The Sinn Fein IRA organisation then went on the criminal and violent offensive and Adams did not know how to handle it. Nor did any other party spokespersons. Nor did the IRA, whose statements mixed together confusion,verbosity and threat. They did it with a lethal display of intemperate language.

The fiction of the republican movement wrestling with itself about the way forward is camoulfage for violence and crime. There will be no peace in Ireland until we get rid of this scum from our mist.
