Hi I'm new to posting on forums, well newish 'cos a local town website has a discussion forum which is mainly full of small-minded local gossip (but some of it hugely entertaining!) I have been posting some stuff but I've got bored on it - too stupid for words.
Anyway I live in a small seaside resort in the south of England, am married, have kids, not much of a social life 'cos busy with work and family etc and would like to make some new friends - so here I am! Please, someone talk to me......anyone.....

Seaside resort town sounds like heaven to me. My sister and I were talking about running away from home. Welcome

Hello and Welcome :-6
Dawlish, it's really nice up around there, it's always somewhere I've wanted to visit rather than just pass through on the train, best part of the train journey!

Wow, you leave the computer for five minutes and look what happens!
Thanks you have all made me feel very welcome.
Gossip - the best bit lately has been a prominent resident setting up home with a sixteen year old girl, not a problem you might say but whilst doing so he has left his family,(not the first time or the first affair) brought his employers business into disrepute and been kicked of a local organisation! Silly so and so.
Betty Boop -Yes Dawlish is a nice town to visit and live in, I also lived in Cornwall for fourteen years at a place called Tregadillett which is near Launceston. If you ever get off that train let me know, next-door to where I work is an amazing tea room with fabulous cream teas!
by the way read a joke yesterday in a book which made me laugh but hubby just went 'mmm'. Here it is anyway
How do you make five grannies shout 'b*****ks?'
Get another granny to shout 'Bingo!'
Off home now, will be back soon.x

Welcome from half-way 'round the world, Imladris. Your town might be small, but it sounds interesting! (As long as they're not discussing YOU!)

Hamster -
You're right the sea does come over the sea wall onto the railway lines, frequently the ballast gets washed away by storms and pretty much the whole of the network in the South West grinds to a halt.
For those who don't know what I mean have a look at the pictures on dawlish.com and you'll see how close the track is to the sea.
You know, I was just thinking, I used to work with someone who had a very alternative sense of humour and reality - we used to spark off of each other with obscure references and warped way of looking at life - I missed her when she went to work elsewhere but I think I may have found a way to replace her here!!

I will talk with you but I have very strict rules about what I will talk about. If you wish to speak with me please refrain from edging outside the boundaries of the list I am providing you with.
Here is the entire list.
1. Bat Guano
2. Legos (the plastic toys you stick together and build things with)
3. Pantyhose
4. Argentina
5. Gossip about some of the freakier members at Forum Garden (very soon you will know on your own whom I might be referring to)
6. Vacuuming/hosehold cleaning methods
Please keep the discussion confined to the above mentioned topics.
Thank you and welcome, Nomad
