The ass munch that hit me? Showed up in his smashing ensemble of "prison blues" jumpsuit, and did just what the prosecutor predicted he would, and pled "no contest" to the charges of "driving while impaired and causing great bodily harm." Saves the coward from a civil suit.

It was enjoyable to show up with my screwed-up face, limping like a gimp and walking on my cane. The piece of dirt wouldn't even LOOK at me,.

He was kept in jail and bound over for trial.

Count one in the good guys win column!!!

If he pled "No Contest" then why is there going to be a trial and why can't there be a civil suit?

While I am glad that his ass is still in jail, I am sorry that you have to go through all of this. On the other hand - I sure am glad that you were able to go to court today!

BR take that cane and beat the bastard with it.

By no civil trial means you can't sue him directly correct?

His insurance company will pay you out right I'm certain of that, along with paying all your medical bills and other related expenses until you let them off the hook right ??

This has nothing to do with the court case it is seperate and at this point it is for a jail term of so many years I hope at least 5-10 hopefully.

Get him BR..;)

DAMN! I am so proud of you for being there! Bet he never expected THAT! (I'll also bet his gonads were in his throat!)

Unfortunately, going after him in a civil suit would probably win you nothing more than a "hollow victory." He doesn't have and never will have enough to do you any good...right?

Now...if only ALL of us could be there for the sentencing. :sneaky:

Sorry I was unclear, gang: By pleading "no contest" to the charges only partially protects him in the civil suit that we WILL be pressing. It affects how the judge in a civil suit can sentence him if/when he is found responsible. Not that we can't persue a civil sit.

Sorry for being vague!

And thanks for all the support about going, but honestly? The only thing that would keep me out of ANY court procedure with this schmuck would be death. Nothing else would keep me out.

I'm having SO MUCH FUN imagining all of us in the courtroom when the #$$%#@! is sentenced! He'll be a drooling mess!

Does this mean you CAN go after every penny he ever earns? OH, GOODY!

What do you know about him?

I don't know about where you are but here if you take someone to civil court and win a judgement against him and he doesn't have anything, that judgement can be renewed something like every seven years.

Which means he would never be able to have anything in his name that you couldn't take from him except necessities like a fridge or beds or clothes. And that would also make his credit worthless. Even if you never got anything at least he couldn't have anything either. :sneaky:

Now that is the question. :)

And how much insurance? If he had very low limits (which he might because he is a scumbag), getting the maximum from his insurance company could still be a low figure.

I'm hoping he had a ton of insurance and you can clean the bastard out!

Keep us posted love :-4

Well then BR take him down for the count. He deserves to be in jail and miserable the rest of his useless life as far as I'm concerned.

I can't remember the age of this jerk. If he is young hopefully his parents had him insured to the hilt and you will get a good pay out.

Still won't make up for the pain and suffering you have endured.

I can now go back to my regular avitar your on the mend and we have you back.:-4

Tell Matt I'm sorry for not writing lately, I was so worried about you I didn't know what to say. I will write to him this weekend again for sure. All I could manage to do was come to your thread and see if we had any news. Floppy kept me and LC informed and I thank her for that from the bottom of my heart..:-4 She is one heck of a friend..;)

Love you kiddo..

OK..here's a plan! We sneak someone in to see the asswipe, subdue him and tattoo his name (Asswipe) on his forehead! How does that feel?:wah:

Nope. We attach his head to one chain, his legs to another, tie both chains to motorbikes and go on a good ol' ride out. In opposite directions.....:sneaky:
