Theres A Chill In The Air

I was downtown the other day, the wind was whistling through the buildings like it was being shot from a cannon. Snow was falling. I felt elated. The seasons of change are upon us. Soon it will be winter, a time for glowing embers in the fireplace, the aroma of hearty food simmering in the kitchen, rose colored cheeks and the warm light from happy homes cascading out into artful drifts of snow. Family members missed to the business of living will be flying in for Thanksgiving to catch up and see nieces and grandsons that have grown so much. Children will be bundled so only their little red noses and two darting eyes can be seen. Theres something about the sound of *crunch crunch* under my boots as I walk on virgin snow that makes me feel small and giddy, the sound of my skates cutting the ice and the silent music the snowflakes make as they dance and tumble to earth. All these things make me feel more alive than I can possibly describe. Its time for change now.

Winter....I embrace it with one hand and rebuff it with the other....I like the cold crispness....the cosiness of being indoors, but I hate the wet and dampness of the winters we have in England...sometimes it makes you feel chilled to the bone despite warm and cosy clothes.

Enjoy your winter Nomad for Spring will be back soon enough, with the promise of re-birth, warm sunshine and glorious flowers.

Fishies won't like cold water................

I only like snow days to stay home from school, then go out and play in the snow. And turn on my snow blower-I got a good one here! No more shoveling for me!
