Thanks to all who have welcomed me.
Minks...I am in Alaska, on the Kenai Peninsula. We are having a typical winter for us...snow like a son-of -a-gun for a few days then rain like heck and freeze! Makes for a slippery time for Santa on the roof!! or on the road whatever the case may be!
But I still like the white Christmas!

libertine, how many hours of daylight do you have in Alaska?

Paula,
We are still losing at the rate of anywhere from 5-7 minutes a day, depending on where in the state one is living. We lose about 5 minutes a day. It is nearly 11 a.m. and is just barely light, although today is pretty overcast, too.
We have nearly 5 hours of daylight on New YEar's Day. On that day we have been gaining a few minutes a day for 10 days. But until mid-January our daylight is not real bright , But then we get sunny days, but cold!!

Wow, you will be on the forum a lot. Here it is 3:37 very cold, daylight will disappear with-in 45 more minutes. I had a feelin your location has a lot of darkness. I am sure it is beautiful there in the warmer months. Stay warm, i just put a pork roast in the oven, too cold to go out tonight...cheerio... :-6
