I bought a piece of stained glass to hang over the window to the entry door. The shop I went to has classes in designing, cutting and leading your own ideas. It sparked an interest. Nomad was wondering if anyone has tried this ?

I've never tried myself, but I've seen if done...takes a lot of patience.
I love stained glass. Lots of examples in our old cathedrals. I've also seen beautiful examples of more modern designs...nothing more inspiring when the sun shine through.

I had a co worker once many years ago who did it. He said it takes alot of time and patience, but he loved doing it. He always made stained glass items as gifts.

I am currently taking a class in stained glass and love it! Yes it does take some practice and patience but the results are pretty cool. It's just a beginners class so I am a long way from doing intricate designs and such but it is a relaxing way to pass the time. I would recommend it!

i haven't ever did the actual stained glass but i do know how to do the stained glass paint and the lead strips. it looks authentic and when you get tired of it you can scrape it off with a knife. i have done four glass doors in my house. my neighbors think i bought stained glass doors.
