New Scotland Yard is on the embankment but has not been Fuzz since the 60s.
Scotland Yard (the new one) is on the Broadway - behind St James's Park tube station

Sherlock would have seen New Scotland Yard built in 1888 on the Embankment but he never worked for them - he was consulted privately.
His rooms were at 221a Baker Street (first floor)

It's an Erotic Gherkin - popularly known as the Swiss Re building
and it's in the City.
Because it's there?

He lived at 221b Baker Street. It's currently an Abbey National Building Society, but if you go upstairs to the 1st floor there is a Sherlock Holmes museum.
If you come out of Baker Street tube station you're on the crossroads of Baker Street and the Marylebone Road. As Bryn said, head north to Regents Park, 221b is about 100 yards away on the opposite side of the road. FYI, that's alo the tube you need if you want to visit Madame Taussaud's or the Planetarium.
There is also a really nice Sherlock Holmes pub near Charing Cross, that is well worth a visit and has a room on the 1st floor decorated to look like Holmes' study.
Here's a pic of the pub at: 10-11, Northumberland St, London, WC2N 5DA
Here's some gumph on it:
Originally called the Northumberland Arms, in the late 50's this pub became the home of the Sherlock Holmes exhibition that was previously part of the Festival of Britain (the pub itself stands on the site of the Northumberland hotel that featured in certain novels, hence the Holmes connection). It is also close to the old Scotland Yard police station. The horseshoe shaped interior has walls littered with Sherlock Holmes memorabilia, Victorian artifacts, business cards, letters, stamps, police whistles, magnifying glasses, prints and pictures from TV and stage performances and of course, the iconic Sherlock Holmes pipe. There is even the stuffed head of the Hound of the Baskervilles! Upstairs, the restaurant offers views into a faithful recreation of Holmes study complete with a wax model Sherlock. A short stroll from Charing Cross and Trafalgar Square, the pub is worth a visit, especially if you are a Holmes enthusiast, but then if you are, you have probably already been here. One last bit of trivia – this apparently used to be a regular watering hole for Jimi Hendrix.

19 out of 20. I'm puzzled that anyone's having problems, and I've no idea why they marked me wrong about Jerry Springer - my answer was obviously right.

Hi peeps
Really bad on this one! Only 13 out of 20. Go to the back of the classroom. As I was born in Bermondsey in London you would have thought I'd have known all the answers. Oh well!

Some people profit from their visit to the district, others come away affected by those they've met in passing.
