Nope no-one showed up here for a change. We sometimes used to get young gits though that would lob egg and flour all over every house they went too. Thankfull though the last few years have gone peacefully, but some of these trick or treat-ers can take the whole Halloween thing a little too far.

We had 15 kids total. And we had about 75 chocolate bars to give out.
Guess who's gonna be eating all the leftovers?

Halloween seems to be generally disliked. Hopefully trick or treating will die out.
It's only because many people don't complain or tell the little ubggres to iss
off that it continues.

Gee I like Halloween and it seems pretty popular where I live.
I'm all for any reason to celebrate and smile

I don't mind Halloween, but I do think it has become a bit of a joke, as kids these days tend to just think they can turn up at your door without even dressing up or saying trick or treat, and expect some kind of sweets for simply showing up, that's what gets me.

I hear you, Chris. We usually get older kids toward the end of the night who are like that. It *does* take the fun out of it, doesn't it?

Certainly does Cher and sadly it's becoming more common around here. I saw a report on the news yesterday about older kids taking it too far, and situations involving the police arising, which really isn't doing anyone any favours, especially considering that the night usually starts out so peaceful, and then sadly can turn into a nightmare for some.

I don't think we have ever had a dry out of kids in our area, if anything more kids live around here today than why 'us' rebels used to hang around outside. Perhaps that's why it was a big surprise to get no one come around yesterday.

You must have one brilliant community where you live then Buttercup if you have all lived near each other for so long.

That's interesting read thanks for that Bill. I'm sure that sensible, honest trick or treaters would respect that, but I feel that for those out there bent on causing mischief those signs may as well read 'please vandalise my house.'

what's a balaclava??
is it like baklava, the greek pastry? cuz i lurve me that stuff. but if they were wearing pastry, weren't they all sticky and gooey? leaving little puddles of goop all over the place? what a mess. but at least now you have a good reason to clean up the house, right?
so i guess i can see why you'd be peeved if they were wearing baklava.

A balaclava helmet is a thing like a big sock with a hole in it that you pull
over your head to keep warm (after Balaklava, where there was a famous
battle during the Crimean).

Nope. Well, it is not like they had an open invite. We pretty much shut down..lock all the doors, turn off all the big lights that would show out the windows, and sit in the dark in our jammies, with our feet up and watch television all evening, uninterrupted.

No these were full face jobs with only a small slit for the eyes and mouth and the little $hits only pulled them over their faces when they realised they were on camera - then just rang the door bell to wind the dog up .
