I’m not sure what happened to me. I used to thoroughly enjoy board games. When I was a kid I liked Monopoly and Checkers. As I got older I started playing Cribbage with Dad and aboard ship. I think the last board a game I really had fun at was Backgammon and that was many years ago. I think I’d like to find a Cribbage partner again but the rest just make me hope nobody asks.

Is it just me?

:) I play cribbage, I used to play it all the time with my husband. When we first met, we played cribbage-ha! He is a very good, player, but he was "enamored" of me, I skunked him!:wah:

(or that's what I always say! LOL)

I've only played it once in the last few years, with some men from church. They were playing on a triple board, and I asked if I could sit down and play the next game. The gallant gentlemen that they were, they dealt me in, in the middle of the game!:p I still won, and am smart enough not to try for a rematch and a proper trouncing in return!

Playing cribbage I do miss............................

So strategy is a bigger part of the game than I thought.

I love backgammon and cribbage too. I used to belong to an online cribbage forum which I loved, but sadly it closed down for some reason. :-1 I haven't since found a board as good. :-1

I used to play monopoly a lot with the kids. It's very good for teaching them about money as they need to buy houses and count out change, etc. There's also a very good Simpson's board game we play occasionally. We also used to play a lot of card games, although not so much any more. They spend more time on their DS's and PSP now. :(

I used to like Monopoly and Scrabble.

If you cannot find a cribbage partner, and do not mind playing online, go to www.POGO.com. Lots of players there.

Startegy is the whole thing in cribbage.

It is like poker, all the innuendos and hidden messages going on, when you lay down your cards and go for the crib.

Oh, it makes me miss playing it. I bever tried playing thos type of games online.

There's something about board games for me...they're cozy. And personal. You and however many other people sharing some time together. Give me a winter night, a warm home, beans on the stove and a dog at my feet, then add a board game and a friend and life is good. :)

Yup. I changed and so did the world around me. I don't think for the better either.

I think I'll go looking for the Crib board. I can see me now... standing on a street corner begging people to play Crib.:wah:

-Remember Candy Land, I wanted to be the gum-drop princess

I hated chutes and ladders, who thought that up, seriously depressing.

Popcorn, and music and laughter=quality family time.

-now it's Texas Holdem, with the son and using real money.
