Those are....

Beautiful animals..

.when we had to have our toy poodle put to sleep at nearly 16 years of age..I held him while the vet administered the shot...he said he had never done that before and wanted me to hand my precious pup to him...Jaques slept in my arms and my husband and I cried for at least two weeks....I appeciate your pain...Jacques was the smartest dog I have ever seen...I would talk to him and explain what I wanted and that was what he did...he did not know he was a dog...but I feel when an animal is ill with no hope of healing it is not 'kind' to keep them alive to keep us from feeling guilty...they fill a place in your heart that just doesn't quit just because they are no longer here.

Magenta, I don't know you well (I'm enjoying getting there) but as a fellow dog-owner and lover I wanted to say I feel for ya! That sucked to say the least. I look at my dog and have to tune out knowing that day will come.

So sorry Magenta. I know the heartace of losing a beloved furry friend. I grieved over an Old English Sheepdog that I had to have put to rest for 20 years. Then I finally found another dog that taught me to love a dog with all my heart again. Don't wait that long Mag. The empty spot should be filled soon.

Magenta, that's a very touching poem. I just saw this thread, I don't know how I missed it or I would have commented before now. Those are beautiful dogs. I am sorry for your pain and the void your dogs have left behind. You're blessed to have had each other.

Oh Magenta I'm so, so sorry you lost your big guy. It's heartbreaking.

We love our furkids so much.
