How do you say goodnight at your house.
My son and I choose a book which I read aloud, and then we say our prayers and he gives me a hug and kiss, we tell each other how great they are etc. and then it's off to dreamland.

I usually stay up while everyone is asleep. When my mom was living, she'd come out and give me a nice soft hug and we'd use our special nicknames for each other. Then when she couldn't get around well anymore, I'd go to her and tuck her in and give her a big hug. She didn't need me to of course, but that didn't matter. Always we would say "I love you." We had our own little funny things we'd say and do but that was the gist of it. :-4
My dad always goes to bed before I do so we share a big hug and again, I call him by the special name I have for him. We say "I love you." That's usually followed by me saying "Did you take your pills?!" :wah: I'm at that age where I want to look after him. More "I love you's" are shouted down the hallway.

We have always since I was a child said 'bless you' before we go to bed,its just a tradition that hasn't ended with me moving out. whenever I go home I make sure to give my parents a hug and tell them I love them coz I'm always thinking what if? I would want them to know I loved them if something happened to them

I generally read my two a story of their choice, then its up the wooden hill for teeth and into bed, once they're in bed we have a chat and hug. Then it's lights out and 'my time'.

My daughter used to have a story then a kiss and a cuddle and an I love you. then she wanted a kiss put under her pillow. Then she wanted some nice dreams tucked under the pillow too, and a cuddle. then she was scared of monsters outside her window so I had to do a 'spell' to keep them out, then she couldn't always get to sleep so I had to do a 'going to sleep spell'.
I'm so glad she's grown out of all that! At nearly twelve it's now a cuddle and a kiss and a sign language I love you (that was so she could say it in front of people without others knowing!)
