In her column today about holiday prep, she said this:
"Accept help: If a guest offers to pitch in with the post-dinner
cleanup, let her" (emphasis mine)
Whoa there Martha, what if a guy wants to help?

there's a real 'gotcha' moment Val! ...remember, no woman ever shot a man while he was doing the dishes.

I think Martha was only speaking of the established pattern. In my family it was always the women that did everything while the guys watched football and lied around sleeping. The only things they did were to carve the turkey and carry out the carcass to the trash. And the women for some reason permitted this.

I think Martha should come to all our houses and do the dishes....so the rest of us can sleep and watch football.

I don't care who helps with the dishes
The "guy" can wear a dress if he wants - just get the dishes done..

Some guys do do the dishes. Especially if no one else is helping out and he feels guilty so he does it. Even though it might be the hardest thing hes ever done. After that he might be bitter because all the pie was eaten while he was doing the damned dishes. Did I mention theres no dishwasher at dads house ? That in itself is enough to ruin the whole day. That and everyone cheering at the greatest win in the history of football in the last two seconds, but bitter man couldnt see it because hes up to his elbows in used sweet potatoes and the junk left on the turkey plate. God ! Screw them !

That's cause she assumes that the "guys" can't wash the dishes as good as the "gals" can! :p

Is this some Martha who's been in jail recently? Has she been let out?
