wasting time to some people is when you are doing something that does not result in progess you can see. like cleaning the house. some people think reading is a waste of time. tv, etc. etc. it is different according to each individual's ideas . imho.

hey. aren't you supposed to be cleaning the house right now? :wah:
I only get concerned when I tell myself I'm wasting my time. Otherwise, I consider it a learning experience.

The last time I was told I'm wasting time here I decided to give it a go and see what I was missing. I ended up listening to about 2 hrs worth of gossip about people I didn't know. And then asked for my opinion about them.
In the end, at least the person who needed me got some attention but...wasting time?

I dont like to sit around and gossip either. i much prefer to get together with friends and be doing something. i'd rather repaint your bedroom than listen to how much you dislike your coworker or neighbor or whomever......gossiping is a total waste of my time . i usally avoid people that dont know how to do anythng else.

I don't even own a tv.
We are going to get raided by the network licensing people because they didn't believe us and spot wouldn't let them in to look.

Magenta,
I wonder about those with spouses who haven't been liberated by forums. I imagine there could be some jealousy issues. Too bad if you can't tell him about the convos that go on here.

I think they should have searched him. They don't know him like I do.

Saturday I had a day out in London with my son and 2 grandsons...it was a great day.
Sunday I stayed in all day and read a really good book, and then started another...I really enjoyed the 'quiet day' as well.
Everyone has their own way of enjoying themselves I guess.....sitting in pubs all night, watching soaps and the shopping channel are not MY idea of good use of time, but everyone to their own !
Now staying in bed all day is definitely a waste of time....having a 'lie in'...nope !

I dont have any time to waste. Being on the forum has never been a waste of my time. Ive learned great things here. It did contribute to my becoming more of an introvert. But as you have said... usually socializing is wasting time. My friends and family really dont understand what participating on a forum is. One activity I feel is a gross waste of time, is sitting down forwarding all of those stupid jokes and nonsensical stories to anyone and everyone a person knows. Then I have to delete them. And then I have to come up with an excuse when Im asked.... " Did you read the blah blah blah"

crikey! If you can add "anything that contains Fw: send to deleted folder" to your mail rules, once you get it working just tell them you got a new virus program and it seems to be causing mail problems you'll let them know when you figure it out.

Weeder, that bloke in omaha used to waste my time and block my email space doing just that. The worst thing though was when he sent me a beautiful e-card. I was really moved until he admitted it was merely a forward. Now that relationship was wasting time :-5

Yeah, come to think of it I have wasted a lot of time in the past. Suffering over break ups with narcissistic morons, who were never worth 5 minutes of my time, Never mind years. Wish I could get back the hours I spent sitting on the couch while my last idiot watched Steven Segal movies. RITCHIE!!!!!
