Hello, everyone! First, thanks so much for the kind words and private messages since I disappeared into the world of joint replacement! You've cheered me and I'm eternally grateful. (I especially enjoyed the naked cabana boys and the various liquid refreshments! Took my mind right off the knee and put it into those "naughty" areas....:sneaky: )
It's been a genuine learning experience and I'll be happy to share if you or any of yours are contemplating knee replacement. My knees started giving me trouble in high school and I was told over the years that I'd have to wait, because artificial knees have an anticipated life, etc, etc.
Now, almost a third of knee replacements are performed on patients under the age of 60, which says a lot for the quality of the prosthetic and the surgical technique itself.
So--what's been happening around here, anyway?

hi Lulu! someone (sorry, i can't recall who) said that you and i should meet....so hello and i'm glad you're doing well after knee replacement! ... i had total knee reconstruction a few years back, years of skiing took a toll and i ignored advice from a specialist at mass. general, i was too afraid to do it.....finally ALL my ligaments were ripped out on the job. i have an ACL from a cadaver, i swear it talks to me!

...i hope your recovery is swift and you feel like the bionic woman! :-6

LC, several folks I respect here have told ME that you & I will get along well! Your experience was considerably more traumatic than mine but we can both be grateful for technology, can't we?
It's amazing to see the variance in human pain tolerance and recovery. Naked cabana boys help. :wah:

i was foolish to wait, if it weren't for a superb orthopedic surgeon, i would have never been able to go back on my job. you were smart, and got it done!!

:wah: You & your bird've just TERRIFIED my naked cabana boys! (Not an attractive sight, a terrified, naked man!):wah:
The knee's not magnetic and I get a little card with an x-ray on it, so I can show it to airport security.
On my recent trip to Jordan, I was GROPED by probably six heavily veiled "women" (how do I KNOW they were women, anyway?) It appears I resemble a terrorist who carries automatic weapons in the areas around her nipples.
I don't think the little x-ray photo would've helped.

They must use Austin Powers vids for their training.

Those "women" could probably do the Medusa-thing and turn you to stone, just by dropping their veils! I wonder how they clear security, coming to work?
