Anyone see the GIANT Gingerbread House they built at the mall of America using real candy and cookies? Ok, it isn't that exciting, its actually a waste of space if you ask me. You have to pay $3 to get inside and as far as I can tell there isn't much to see inside. I'm all for charities and everything (which is where the $3 goes I guess) but I just think its a waste.

Ba Hum Bug I guess when it comes to the Gingerbread house. :p

Funny though... no one agrees with me because the line to get into that thing was like a mile long.

I must protest. I could only be dragged in kicking and screaming. The only thing attracting me to that hideous thing are those giant candy pieces that keep calling my name. :D

Watching the people file into that gigantic thing was like watching the stepford wives movie :wah: I just don't get it. Its this huge blob of frosting, cookies and candy and you can see almost through to the otherside and it appears to have something in a corner thats blocked from the public view - unless of course you give up $3.

Its just foolish IMO. I was at the mall to have a warm walk today and the line was Lonnnnnnng again. Its not normal :wah:

The gigantic gingerbread house will be unveiled on November 24, welcoming guests to walk through and experience a magical gingerbread factory complete with animated elves.

^ NO WAY!

I can't believe they are using the line "magical" to describe the experience one would have when they view that thing :wah: :-5

The magic escaped me when I walked by. It truly did.

It was beautiful today. The lack of sunshine was a bummer but the temp was great. I was watching Channel 4 weather and they said it would get to 38 but your right Nomad, it was def in the 40's. I'm just sad because of the lack of snow. :( I hope January gives us a good dump!

No did not get to see the GBH in Minn. But before we left NE, we saw a GIANT GBH that they built in the Mohegun Sun "Casino"! It was beautiful, and the "Ginger Bread smell" was inviting, & best of all, to view it was "FREE"!

Does a Giant Gingerbread House such as this attract...um....crawly things?? Like bugs and rodents? Any witches nibbling on the eaves? How long will the house stay on display?

I'm not sure when it will come down, I think I read in the paper that it will come down right after the holidays. I wish it had that gingerbread smell but it doesn't. Or maybe it would if it weren't for all the stinky bodies filing into it :wah: Just kidding.

I wondered the same thing Colette. Maybe they've treated it with something to keep that from happening which I'm sure is REAL GREAT for everyones health

Can anyone tell that I really don't like that thing :wah:
