I found that incredibly funny, yet a bit sad.

OK my thoughts on PC, we have man-hole-covers....

Man-holes are the holes in the street that allow workers to enter the tunnels beneath our cities.... for sewer, water, electrical etc...

The cover it the fancy lit on top....

I remain stumped on how to make these PC?? Exactly my point......, "who cares...." That is the name, it was never named such to cause offence, it's the hole the "man" (being human in general), climbes down to do his job.

PC has gone to far, christmas was never called christmas from the get go to become offensive down the road.... Enough is enough, that is the name that is what we have called it for.... ever.... let's accept it. (among all the other PC drivel)

I think PC is way out of control. I have worked with people with disabilities for over 20 years. OK..yes, they are working on getting rid of "labels" and generalizations about themselves..but sometimes even we who work with them get worried about stepping on the wrong toes. I mean, some things I understand...older words such as "crippled" or "idiot" (that one used to define a person with Mental retardation) are out dated, and out moded. I have a problem with "differently abled" and some of the other new PC words.

I had a co-worker take me to task once for calling another co-worker "deaf" instead of "hearing impaired". He said deaf was wrong and not a "correct term" as it brings to mind thier disability and not the person. Uh Huh,,and "hearing impaired" is better because....?

As a person who has always been compasionate and caring of others, I say so long as you are showing respect for other human beings..what difference does it make how you address them?
