With Denver and Kansas City losing last night, this all but secures an even race for not only the Wild Card spots in the AFC, but also, the entire race for the AFC playoffs altogether.

The NFC has been an undecided race throughout all of the playoff picture, but with a few of the most unforeseen upsets this week in the AFC with the Bengals beating Baltimore to keep the AFC North title well within anyone's reach, as well as Cleveland's surprising win over Kansas City, Seattle's win over Denver, and Tennessee's most shocking win over the Indianapolis Colts, the AFC is an up for grabs playoff picture throughout the rest of the year as five out out of the six teams in playoff contention are knotted at an identical 7-5 record playing for two playoff spots throughout the entire AFC, which is only two games back from the divisional leaders in the AFC North and AFC East.

Chicago was the first team to secure a playoff bid in the NFC North division, but as for the rest of the NFC the playoff picture is just as wide open. The remaining of the year in the NFL is anyone's guess as to who will be in the playoffs, and to make any predictions now would be as unknown as to have made any predictions prior to week 13, a week that gives even more credibility to that of the overwhelming number of people who feel 13 is an unlucky number...I'll leave that up for you to decide.

Cincy's D has improved, and to be honest they have set a franchise record for 7 straight quarters without allowing one single point,..so Chargers better look out.

Good point K.Snyder. But if anyone can score on cincy it is San Diego. But I have to admit Cincy's D looks very good lately.

I don't understand it really...

They go from allowing 42 points in one half,..

to holding two teams scoreless for 7 quarters, only to relinquish a fluke touchdown with 61 seconds left in the game against Baltimore, after a Cincy defender lost his footing, which lead to the only touchdown in two games against them.

You can bet that the CIncy D got ripped after that San Diego loss, which has everything to do with their success, but one can only wonder, if they are capable of that, why wasn't the defense that successful to begin with?

Granted one team was against the Browns, but Baltimore is a very good offensive team as well...

KS how quickly you forget, remember the pounding the CHARGES gave the BENGALS it wasn't pretty... ;) The Chargers are very, very good this year and to add to that we have LT who in my opinion should be the MVP of the year.

I will add Dallas looked good yestarday but not good enough to beat San Diego. :D

Yes, I remember the pounding the Chargers gave the Cincy Defense, but this is a new Cincy defense...

I am as enthusiastic as ever for Cincy making the playoffs, considering the upsets of last night in the AFC...

One thing is for sure, if the old Cincy defense shows up, they might as well cash in their playoff tickets for a simple smorgasbord buffet, because they won't be worth anything...

It is getting good now. What about the day Reggie Bush had for the Saints they are looking good as well.

If we keep going and win all the rest of the games we could very well have home field advantage for the Playoff. All that has to happen is the Colts have to lose one..:wah:

They lost to Tennessee, they can lose to anyone.

Actually Tennessee isn't the worst in the league, but considering they lost their number one quarterback to the Ravens, and are beginning with a rookie quarterback, they are far from in playoff contention.

Jeff Garcia played in his place,..

while I didn't watch the game(followed it on stat tracker from the yahoo sports website) from his stats, it seemed like he played very well,..but we all know how that goes, stats doesn't necessarily mean they played well...

But, yes McNabb was out...

This is where it comes down to following almost half of the entire schedule each Sunday, when you need a number of other teams to lose in order to benefit your team.

This week is a week I find a Wild Card contender squaring off against a divisional foe. But because there are about 5 teams that are even with Cincinnati in the Wild Card race and Baltimore is two games ahead in the AFC North, I am faced with indecision.

This week I will wait to see who wins the Baltimore Vs. Kansas City game so that I can be more assertive in just what it is I would like to see Cincy do. Obviously I would like for Cincy to win out the rest of the season at the same time Baltimore loses every game, but I have to remain rational and somewhat realistic. But upon the loser of that game, I will be looking for Cincy to secure either a Wild Card spot heading in to the playoffs if Kansas City loses, or I will be rooting for Cincy to take over the division upon a Baltimore loss, and a Cincy win, which would leave Baltimore only one game ahead of Cincy in the AFC North. A spot like seven others that is a guaranteed birth into the playoffs and the road to Superbowl XXL.

Cincy also needs Jacksonville to lose to Indianapolis, Denver needs to lose to San Diego, and Buffalo needs to beat the N.Y Jets, in order to increase their prestige thus far in the season...

This is a week I will sit back and watch all of the race to get to the playoffs, as Cincy needs to capitalize in what has been it's best chance of the season in making the playoffs.

we needed the Colts to win that game...

We play them next week, and coming off of a loss like that will make them play alot better the following week, but not only that, Jacksonville was 7-5 as well, and is still tied with cincinnati for the Wild Card race.

I realize that the Wild Card hosts two positions, but I am looking for Cincy to have the best record, so that their fate can go untainted.
